I’ve only been gardening just over a year and I grown everything in your list except zucchini and that’s just because of the space it takes up. I’d also add herbs to the list. Saves money but also largely very simple to grow.

Walking onions!! Strawberries, rosemary, asparagus, rhubarb, celery are all long term staples in my garden that just keep growing.

Great video, Culinary Garden. Looking forward to seeing your next upload. I pressed that thumbs up symbol on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on beginner-friendly veggies are so helpful. Have you considered discussing the best companion plants for these crops to maximize garden productivity?

Love growing zucchini. So much to harvest and share. Grate and freeze for winter use, dehydrate and powder. I would add choko to the list. I know it’s not fashionable and the flavour can be bland, but lightly steamed and served with a little butter and salt/pepper it is delicious. Great in stews and curries. Grow up a fence or shed once and it will regrow every year.

Great video mate, first time gardener this season and have lots of these growing in the garden this year. The comment about spinach going to seed was funny as my spinach has gone to seed practically as a seedling lol

Grow things you use. If you use fresh herbs, a small herb garden can be one of the most cost effective and easy things to grow. I know each bunch costs $2 and I end up throwing half of it away every week. Dill, sage, thyme, bunching onions (scallions), oregano are some of the easiest plants to grow. You can get fancy and add marjoram, chervil, taragon and cilantro but cilantro can be difficult cuz it seeds easy and gets bitter. If you use herbs in the kitchen, you can save a lot of money every week and end up with a better product, just with a small bed or containers.

Onions are a great addition to this list. The onion tips work like chives or spring onions, and you get a full onion at the end of the season! 😊 (half cut one stalk on each bulb and it sends more energy to the bulb) repeat throughout the growing season 😊

Excellent tips! Have you got any tips growing Angel Trumpet and Sacred Datura (datura.innoxia and datura.wrightii) from seed? Have been trying to grow them for the past two-months and none have popped up. Cheers!
