I find it odd that the Firebird 455 HO with 300 HP and 415 lb-ft is slower than the heavier GTO with the same motor. Even more odd is that the Z/28 with 255 HP and 280 lb-ft is described as one full second quicker than the Firebird; sure rear gears could be different, but a 3.08 to 4.11 is not a one second difference (just an example). It goes on and on. The 442, GS, Chevelle, all heavier than the Firebird and with engines putting out less HP/torque than the 455 HO are listed as quicker than the Firebird.
Not all Cuda’s where 4 speed and there was zero change in body style other than grille, tail lights and side markers. No they did not have solid lifters. They were hydraulic.
Great feature, but be careful about the 440 Six-Pack/ 6-Barrel reference for '72 Roadrunners. Sadly Chrysler didn't offer that engine option after 1971. It's been speculated that a '72 "GTX" 440 6-Barrel "slipped through" and "things happen". But a great feature and fun look back!
I owned a 71 cutlass 442 that I bought from a good friend in highschool and me and my cousin did a lot of work to it and I took it to atco speedway in Atco new jersey and it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile without nitrous and ever since then I was hooked on cuttlass's ❤️💪😎
@@PistonTrends Many of the comments should’ve answered that question. You got the GTO with the same engine as the formula, which the latter might even hive the lower final drive running almost a second slower, similar with the demon and other dodge 340. You can’t mishmash your performance data sources, and if you got them from the same source, they’re not accurate. I ran a 455HO formula with auto under 15 , same with a dodge duster with a manual, both bone stock. And I’m not even a professional driver.

Love it. My high school buddy had a 1971 cutlass and ever since then I’ve like them as well.
@@PistonTrends That will always be my favorite car 😎👍❤️

Why would anyone put those ugly rims on that Chevelle? Sad, keep it stock, much better.
Agree
These numbers are off on almost every car. Nice cars, bad data. 5 thumbs down.
Please share what data is bad and why you think so! Thanks!
