Thanks for fixing my liquid damaged M1 MacBook Air with a coffee spill. You guys rock! Resurrected my laptop for less and its working like new. Apple and a local PC repair place said it was unfixable. Keep up the good work. Whole repair was done within 1 week of receiving the laptop.

@7:19, I wouldn't call it sleep mode, in sleep mode it would go into a lower power/voltage state and would be a constant signal. I've seen other datasheets for similar chips and they call it "hiccup" mode, where the chip cycles on and of, very similar to a PWM output signal but with no steady clock signal driving it. This tells you something in the comparator circuit or enable circuit isn't quite right.

I have one A2338 which came in no power and had corrosion near one of the CD32s, I replaced with all resistors and replaced that particular CD32.
After that it would simply show 20v and then after sometime 5v so I was able to put the device in DFU mode and restored the device to which it fails and now I can hear the Mac Chime and shows Exclamation Mark.
There is no other damage and all voltages are present.
Question mark you mean? Restore will erase the SSD. You need to install MacOs now.

My A2338 turns on and works but does not charge. It is stuck at 5v with no visible burnt or corroded components.
PBBUS_AON: 12V
PP5V_S2: 5.3V
PP3v8_AON: 3.8V (at L5800, L5820, or L5840)
PP3v3_S2: 3.3V at LC710
PP5v_S2: 5V at LC320
PPDCIN_AON_CHGR_R: 5V (at C5205,5204,5203,5202,5201,5206) with both ports)
PP3V3_UPC1_LDO (Near CD3217 chips): 3.4V
PP3V3_UPC1_Core (Near CD3217 chips): 3.4V
PPVBUS_USBC: 5V (if connected to the corresponding port. Only shows 5V per side if connected, other side will show 0v)

G3H comes from G3 - Mechanical Off. It's a PC power state same as S5, S4, S3 and S0. It pretty much means that the rail is on when the computer is fully off, so more or less the same meaning as AON

hey Tim, I recently purchased an m1 MBA and unfortunately earlier today I was extremely clumsy and spilled about half a cup of water onto the keyboard and I freaked out and almost immediately powered it off. I tried to put it into a tent shape and accidentally powered it back on but it didn’t do anything sketchy so I immediately turned it off again. Leaving it to dry for 48 hours now. Do you think I did the right thing and disaster was avoided?
I don’t have any means to open the back to inspect or to remove the battery either unfortunately. Learning a lot from these videos though as I am trying to learn Hardware Engineering
Without the battery disconnected it’s hard to say. With electricity running though the board, everything you did will have minimal effects unfortunately despite what forums may say.

Hey bro, would you recommend m1 macs or are you seeing too many poor engineering problems and board failures?
So far the M1's are decent, Better designed boards than the previous for sure, however the warranty hasn't expired on a lot of them so it's still too early to tell.

I am Planning to pull the trigger on the M1 pro/ max after using my old computer for almost 8 years now. Hoping to still get around $400 as trade in as the display works fine and battery holds a charge.
