- We've had plenty of bands come through the Stiegl Hidden Studio, but never one this loud. PUP is about to release their much anticipated sophomore album The Dream Is Over. The title is a direct quote from frontman Stefan Babcock's doctor, who uttered the dreadful news after inspecting the singer's destroyed vocal chords that resulted from an insanely dense tour schedule of 450 shows in just two years. Staring adversity boldly in the face, the band fearlessly pushes on and continues to pursue the commitment they've made to their music, their fans, and to each other.

Agreed, a lot of bands would kill to have the attention Pup has after only two LP's. Look how long it took Menzingers or Jeff Rosenstock to get where they are at.
i think their audience not growing that fast because their sound is everything in between, if you know what i mean, not just one sound/spesific genre

Saw them in July, partied like hell, seeing them again in November, it's gonna be a fucking riot. These guys are hellishly good live.
saw them in may and december. lost my shoe at the may concert, went back in after everyone left and got it. i still wear that dirty, torn-to-shreds pair of low-tops all the time cause it someone points out their terrible condition, i have a good story. best crowd ever.

Saw them live once...didn't know who they were, and I fell in love. Super energetic, and honestly stole the show from Thrice for me. Their set was fucking awesome.
Reservoir, DVP, Dark Days, Mabu...great songs.
Same for me. Went to see Beach Bunny as an opener for them and came out of the concert with a new favorite band.

Just me or did anyone know, that the transition with these two songs, you can't even notice it, "If this tour doesn't kill you" ends with the same note, that begins "DVP" which makes me love then even more. Intentional or not, I love it.
It was intentional. On the album the If This Tour Doesn't Kill You goes straight into DVP, with that note being the connecting point.
Because all their songs sound the same and use the same chords
Thats why i love listening to full albums in order at least once. Theyre in that order for a reason, and can tell a cohesive story
You have no idea how charged i am towards the end of 'If this Tour Doesn't Kill You', and then DVP just doesn't come. Nice to hear the ins and outs though Stefan, sounding great man! Keep it real.

that story just made me love the album more and more proud that i could hear it now and tell my friends. and i just love that his mates are also there singing. its like a camaraderie.

We got The Dream is Over on promo at the record store I work in. By far one of my favorite albums from this half of the year and I actually like it better than Holy Ghost by Modern Baseball…
