I played this game when I was really little and I absolutely adored it! I still have my copy. I have a distinct memory of being like 4 and waking my mom up at the crack of dawn so she could turn the game on and watch me incorrectly guess what was in those poké eggs. Good times
Dude, I have that game! I remember playing it as a kid and not understanding why there was no progression. The only real thing I did in the game was watch the pichu brothers. When they were running in front of that complicated graffiti at the beginning, I would pause it and do that thing where you can color stuff in. Never knew about the ruins or the jirachi transfer, which bothers me as I could have had a jirachi this entire time.
I seriously played so much of this game as a kid. I really loved the concept of Hey You! Pikachu, but the game, like, straight-up didnt work because the mic sucked so bad. So this game was way better! It was super comfy and silly and hilarious and i loved all the stupid crap you could do. I love that Squirtle with the sunglasses hahaha

I got the GameCube and game for my birthday because my parents knew I loved Pokemon and the guy at gamestop told them this game was good for girls (?) so I excitedly played it as soon as I could. But, my parents didn't think to buy me a memory card, so for the first week or so that I had the GameCube I started a new game of Pokemon Channel ever single day and I watched the first few minutes of that pichu bros short like a hundred times. It's still seared into my brain. 10/10 would recommend.

My parents didn't get it because they didn't want to spoil me, but I found 20 bucks folded on a handrest on the stairs of the building while I was going down the stairs. I was using the handrest, and my hands landed on something, I turned my hands to look at what I was accidently holding... and it was 20 bucks! Needless to say the only reason, even as a kid, I played through was to get Jirachi. But I remember that I loved it everytime I saw something new in the game.
It's a testament to how much i love Yakko's content, that I wanted to close this video about 3 min in, but just couldn't get myself to do it, so I watched 12 min about a childs game that I'm never ever gonna play..

fun fact, that jirachi can be shiny and when you transfer it you are listed as the original trainer, which until last year thanks to a pokemon go event, was the only way you could get a jirachi as you as the ot. Oh yeah and the game has to be played in full to reroll your odds in getting it shiny and yes people shiny hunt it
So, this game makes a little bit more sense when you realize it's supposed to he a tech demo for the Gamcube. In fact, there's a channel that shows Meowth rocking out at a rock concert. This was one of the original demos for the Gamecube, along things like Super Mario 128. Why this turned into a full retail game with nothing in it while Super Mario 128 turned into something cool like Pikmin is beyond me.
