Yes. I don’t like to hear a person talking while I meditate. Meditation is in silence. Thank you.

I didn't actually hit the dislike button but the bell on the video doesn't sound right, like they mishit the gong the first time. I mean they had one job on this video and they messed it up!

So here is why I think meditation is a wonderful way of reminding you what's important but not ultimately necessary to reach freedom. Just from my own experience, presence comes from relinquishing the idea of controlling future events by your thoughts, and, by that same token, controlling, changing, improving your mental well -being, improving your sadness until it becomes happiness etc.
I know I was totally free and present when I had been in absolute despair days and hours before. The insight of "I will never work this out" became so palpable that I let go. And I no longer minded that much. So, ironically, the freedom, and absolute presence almost, arose from the insight "I can't do anything about this. If I keep trying I'm entering the world of pain (all rights reserved Big Lebowski).
And then it didn't last. But I don't believe it's a feeling that naturally shifted. I think you can maintain that peace to one degree or another all the time. And the reason I didn't was because I interpreted the good feeling that came from relinquishing all as a sign that I might after all have the capacity to order my life with my thoughts and eventually break even. And so I suffered again. Then I thought maybe it's because I'm not that desparate at the moment, and I have to be desparate to have this freedom of relinquishing. And I wasn't . I was stable and self-sustaining. But now I know that the decisive part is not to reuptake controlling and planning your life with your thoughts after you have misinterpreted your freedom for an extra energy-reservoir for your original dysfunctional intentions and thought patterns. Geez that's a long text.

Mark is it possible to build a great mental skills without meditation? I do meditate sometimes but I can't find it helpful but your other tricks to deal with mental stuff such as accept intrusive thoughts and practice non judgment help me so much. If i accept the stuff in my head and practice non judgment and don't do meditation, is it allowable to great a mental fitness skills?

@Kj-wq7cb But that wouldn't matter. It is a common fear people do compulsions around, though, because they want to get certainty they didn't think of a thought because they attach meaning to that and feel they need to do more compulsions to fix it if it feels like they did it or wanted it or whatever they judge as the bad thing
