You can hand wash a prefilter like that with Dawn and warm water. Rinsed well and squeezed out, I put it out in the sun, in front of a heater or on top of my boiler to dry. Good as new! Don’t forget to oil if called for. 😉
Really great job on that deck! I think your welding was fine. What kind of welder is it? Great idea with that paint. I’d like to know how it holds up compared to the original. Since the spindles corrode I would have painted them too. Any decks I work on I clean really well and brush on used motor oil. Only takes a couple minutes.
It is the titanium 110 from harbor freight. And I plan on replacing the spindles as soon as I find a good set! And thats a good idea about the use motor oil!
What’s your opinion on fluid filming the under side of the deck? I know it’s common practice up north in the rust belt for vehicles but was curious about a deck I can’t imagine it would hurt
Some beautiful Wheel horses ya got there...new subscriber here my friend....really nice job!!
When you have the deck rollers off, that is a great time to lube them! I suggest coating the axles with chassis grease, then reinstall the wheels.
Great point!

Thanks for the info!
when repairing small holes jn sheet metal back it with a piece of thick brass the weld won't stick to the brass and you can fill in the small holes
Or copper? Old flattened scrap copper pipe?
Nice work.

How hard would it be to build a new deck ???
Love the tractor and patching deck make sense
Alot of work ! I'm all the time keeping an eye out for people selling their old decks. I'm going to nurse this one along for as long as I can!

I wonder if you can’t get the OEM solid rollers if instead you could fill up the hollow ones with epoxy?
