This case is rock solid (like other Pelican cases). th-cam.com/users/postUgkx3jMFPw9QX_Iu4DNcjW-t9AZ4_iNhJzhE I paired it with the Master Lock 140T set of padlocks. The US Airways ticket agent that checked the case was impressed by how completely the latches were secured. The case has layers of removable foam cubes that can be easily adapted to the contents of the case and keep everything secure. After declaring its contents to the ticket agent, I was allowed to put this case in other checked luggage. Due to its size and black color, this helped insure that it wasn't misplaced by a baggage handler. TSA was (apparently) happy with the packaging as well. If you plan on flying with more than one of the main items, I would recommend buying a larger Pelican case and just transport the case as another piece of checked luggage.
Henry Poteet Especially when Vaultek had a security flaw which allowed their Bluetooth equipped safes to open. The company acknowledged the problem and claimed to have rectified the issue.
I agree with your choice of the Fort Knox, provided they solved the paint flaking issue that gummed up the Simplex lock. Three others that are based upon the Fort Knox design are the V-Line Brute, the Amsec PS1210HD and the Stealth STL-PB (part of and identical to Amsec, except for its finish). As far as the pistol safes with a holster, FAS’s FAS1 (7 Guage steel) is the best by a long shot, IMO. They use the same Simplex locking mechanism, but also has a robust, hardened steel 10-pin key lock, while almost all gun safes use cheap Chinese locks that take seconds to defeat. FAS1’s key lock stops the Simplex mechanism from being opened when placed in the “Out Position”, even if the correct combination has been entered (this is great when not at home).

Vaultek safes are the best bedside safe's out there, I've had a VT20 and VT10 for about 5 years now. The VT20 fits my P07 with extended 17rd mag+Primary Machine comp and the wifes Ruger SR22 no problem. Never had an issue and batteries last for about 6 months of continued use (that means I store my carry there every time I come home). It might be pricey at first, but think about it; how much are your guns worth to you?
Very quick and safe even in the dark since my FAS1 safe that is bolted to my bed frame right next to my pillow automatically presents my holsters gun to me in the exact same place every time. It's also the heaviest steel construction available (7 GA on all sides and door) to be more theft resistant than most. 100% mechanical Simplex lock with exclusive key lock that deadbolts the pushbutton lock for added security when quick access isn't needed. You should review the FAS1 safes sometime.

I use the ZoreX chamber style electronic lock. I like it because it gives me access to the weapons even if I'm groggy and can't manage disengage the lock. With the addition of a 500 lumen weapon light that's enough to at least make an uninvited guest puase long enough to disengage the lock....

I usually make it hard for the intruder to get in first (4inch wood screws, better locks) that way my dogs will alert me and he will attack if he senses a bad person (he's did it many times before). That way I have time to grab my weapon of choice. Buy yourself time!
