  • Today’s BALANCE session invites you to dig deep into the subtle layers of your practice. This journey is about meeting yourself, your sensations and observations, and through regular practice - finding your flow. In this session we begin with a right/left hemisphere balance and move on to continue to use the asana to learn about ourselves and how we experience our bodies.

    Good morning from Sunny South Africa. Excited to have a morning practice with you all. I hope each new day of practice is slowly moving you towards the version of yourself that you're aiming to become❤️
    Just a little gentle suggestion: I discovered the effectiveness of habit stacking during last year's practice and have brought it in to this years as well. Basically since we're already endeavouring to get into one daily habit why not add one or two others alongside it. So journalling after a practice or practicing gratitude before each practice. You start to build on more than one good habit in this way and I found that this actually helped me stick with the habits I incorporated last year!

      I struggle with balancing(one hand planted, one foot planted, raise the other ) is there a modification where I may still get some of the benefits of the posture and gain balance?

    I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. After a major car accident two years ago I was introduced to your practices by my Traumatic Brain Injury rehab doctor. I am pleased to say I am now flying off round the world back in my career as a film Director, on the outside no-one would know the struggle, but on the inside I know there were days all I could do was breathe and hope. And I thank God that you were there helping me find both. Thank you x

      Yeah, sometimes I wish there was a modification or alternate option to Alternate Nostril Breathing for those stuffy days. I get them pretty often 😂

      Made it to day 15, awesome! Last year I started chemo a year ago today, so didn’t make it very far. Balance was not good today, but I tried.😀

    Alternate nostril breathing is such a life saver for me. I can’t count how many times it has calmed me from anxiety attacks or pounding headaches. I sometimes forget how powerful the breath pattern can be. Today was a lovely reminder that I have it whenever I need.
    Halfway mark, let’s go! We can do this. We are doing this. Aren’t we awesome? Until tomorrow ♥️

      same! i have generalized anxiety disorder and no breathing technique has ever helped me in a genuine moment of panic other than alternate nostril breathing. just one of the many ways yoga has helped me ❤

      I never thought about using nostril breathing to relieve headaches! I get migraines so im gonna try that the next time i get one

    Today I felt sore and unmotivated to get up at 7, my nose is also a little clogged up. It maybe wasn't my most intense and "flowiest" och flows, but now I feel so proud of myself. You can do it yogies, I know you can. Namaste ❤

      I woke up also feeling a bit unmotivated and congested - I gave myself permission to skip the alternate nose breathing but did measured breathing instead - trying to work with what I have 😄

    Day 15 is done, February 8th. Today is the day I let go and explore, find my center. I fall couple of times in half-moon but I stayed as well. I'm proud of myself and happy I'm on this amazing journey with all of you. Thanks and lots of loving to Adriene and Benji ❤❤❤ Namaste 🙏

    I was so tempted to stop the video when I kept falling over in moon pose. Deep breaths, observed my frustration, released my need to hit the pose perfectly, and completed the video! Thank you for the lesson in humility. Release has been my mantra since day one and I really practiced it today!

    I'm old, have done quite a few 30 day yoga but last year too many health problems. I am sore every day through this but it feels like home to be on mat again. Benji also helps, first time in my life living without a dog, just their presence lifts my spirits.
    Adriene taught me to accept where I am through her yoga journeys. I love her and Benji so much.
    I will do another 30 days next and pretty soon my body won't hurt all over.

      Feeling a little like that as well. I’m 65 years young and this practice has me feeling both good and sore and achy at the same time. Recovery time is a little longer than it used to be, but I know in my heart that yoga will be the reason I’ll still be golfing, playing pickleball and even just walking in another twenty years. My future self is already thanking Adriene right now. Namaste

    Congratulations on making it to the halfway day everyone! 🎉Last year I had to stop during week 2 due to an injury (from a dance class, not because of the 30 day practice 😊). It feels so good to be here and I'm so grateful that I can be! I am finding my body a little stiffer as I'm getting older but am so, so grateful to Adriene and the community for the opportunity to keep my body as supple and strong as it can be as I change through the years.     I've done yoga with Adriene before, and am so glad I happened to come back & find this 30 day yoga journey. I've been out of practice for some time, and it's just what this 671/2 year old nurse anesthetist needs to keep physically and mentally fit. I journaled before this practice this morning, and agree with Sunny South Africa, that building upon these practices, keeps me on the journey of a full life....the beautiful & the terrible!     I’m half way there. I’ve never missed a 30 day journey from YWA and community. Feels great to be here and back with you all. I had a breakdown and hardship and can’t believe all the years I’ve been doing yoga this is hard getting back into shape. I was down for 2 months and really struggling with balance and strength. 2 months might have set me back a long way but I’m here and feeling so much better. Life is good!

    Today was the first day that I just had a really hard time from beginning to end. I seemed to have no balance. I lost my breath over and over. And I couldn't even manage one of the poses at all. And I still feel sooooo much better than when I woke up. Thank you so much for this journey, thank you for today, and thank you for all that you have taught me over the years. ❤

    I had a hard time from start to finish but I finished! saw all the lovely comments and realised, even with the difficulty I had with balancing, not once did I go "I should stop this or I'm terrible at this" and I just continued trying to get the pose as much as I could. love this community, love that I'm still trying to complete this challenge with how far behind I am and how many skip days I've had due to my mental health. thank you for this Adriene

    i didnt even stick through half of the half moon foundations video, which was on the calendar last month. and i made it through this practice without even falling once!! im so proud of myself

    I really look forward to morning yoga every day. It's lovely.
    I've been feeling happier and calmer.
    I don't do it because it's good for my health, to be fit or anything else anymore.

    Amazing how 20-30 minutes of Yoga every single day builds my core and my strength and my mobility. Of course I do a lot more but yoga gets it all together and nourishes my soul, all for free. Thank you Adriene, you are a great teacher.

    The half moon pose was really tough for me but still feeling strong refreshed and balanced after this practice! I have my first day at a full time job today (i just graduated from college this past May) and am trying to remember I still have a lot to learn and that’s okay! So this was helpful.     Thanks to the beautiful community in the comments. I let 2 days pass because I was so busy with college and work so I was a bit disappointed in myself. However, reading all of your kind reminders made me get off my butt and return to the mat.

    Wonderful way to end my day here in Bristol. I feel energetically balanced and positively glowing with radiant light and energy🌟🥰! These practices never fail to soothe my mind, body and soul and as I sat back into sukasana at the end, i could truly feel the magic of todays balancing practice flowing through my whole body. Congratulations to everyone that is still here at the halfway mark🥳! We’re all doing such incredible work tending to ourselves daily so that we can tend to other aspects of our life and the people within them with greater love and compassion. How amazing is it that we gift ourselves this life-changing/altering practice? Proud of each and every person within this space, no matter where you are in your journey.     Day 15 felt the shifting. One pose was so difficult on my right leg and surprisingly easier on my left. I shifted my focus to my center while trying it on my left side and boom! Got it! If only for a few quick seconds ☺️

    Congrats to all for making it to the halfway mark!!!!! I gave myself grace and used props to balance during half moon and it really helped me focus on extending the crown and spiraling the heart. I've been teaching Alternate Nostril Breathing to my acting students and it felt good to be the student today. See you all tomorrow! 🙏

    Heartfelt greetings from very snowy Quebec. The days are short here this time of year and December-March are months in which I struggle emotionally because the darkness, and the weather makes us more solitary around here. But there is a benefit: time for introspection, and quiet, purposeful movement. This is the most I have enjoyed a 30-day program and I'm thankful for it every day, Adriene. Namaste!

    Hellou from Finland! First time ever I decided to follow The 30 days program. And I'm loving it!! It has felt just sooooo good. I've felt much more relaxed overall, and just last night I noticed how much better my balance is. Oh my, I'm happy I made this decision, so THANK YOU, ADRIENE!!

      Oooh Finland. LOVE the Moomintrols. Read Moomintrols midwinter with my kids. I always thing of places far North where I imagine you have to cultivate a sense of warmth from within. May you be warmed in your heart on those dark days with the knowledge that people all over are thinking of you right now and sending love❤

I'm trying to get on the feeling of The yoga community, but since I'm also struggling a bit with My Life as a working mother of two under 6, this has also Been very much something just for myself, just by myself. But luckily there's still almost 3 weeks left to find the Life as a Part of The yogic community! 😊 But thank You for your kind words! ❤

    I love Adriene's mantra Find What Feels Good! I did yesterday's practice in the evening and my shoulders were feeling sore, so I missed the planks and did puppy postures instead (felt so good!!). This morning I did this practice and was like a new woman - strong and pain free - planks not a problem!! So if you are having a bad day, don't worry about keeping up, just get on the mat and do SOMETHING, even if it is just a child's pose. You will feel so much better for it...........movement is medicine!!!

    The first time we were practicing going up on our toes, I didn't really get how to lift up from the center but went along and did my best. But the second time we were doing it, it just clicked for me!! Love being able to see progress in the middle of a session!

    Adriene, thank you so much for this practice. I got onto the mat right after an intense therapy session. I didn't expect those feelings to join me today in this practice but they did. The minute you started the half moon I just burst into tears. Last year, around the halfway point, I remember crying during practice too. I don't cry often, so the fact that you and all of us yogies have given me a safe space to explore my feelings is just so amazing. Thank you, namaste

    Just like Adriene has taught me the vocabulary I use by default in difficult poses, and enables me to do them, she has also taught me grace and forgiveness for myself when I can't. I found myself saying "not today" to half-moon on the right side. I had had a very difficult and overwhelming day, but I got through the practice, even if it was difficult to get on the mat in the first place. Thank you, Adrien.

    I am feeling a lot of gratitude for this online yoga community! I have been participating in the journey since 2016 and it has felt surprisingly personal despite not being able to interact face to face as I had been used to previously. I had foot surgery September 21 and credit this yoga practice with helping me to regain strength and flexibility! Thank you Adriene for all of your effort and “presence”!❤

    This was such a transformative practice for me, yesterday I sprained my left ankle. It never occurred to me to skip today's practice, I am behind as I started the 2023 YWA 30 days practice a little over a month ago and continued into this year's 30 days immediately after and I know that had I not been practicing Yoga with Adriene for a little over a month now, my ankle would be in a much worse condition. This morning, it looks and feels way better than I expected it to. I was able to complete this practice, though slightly more gingerly than my norm, but fully completed it. I am so grateful for this channel, this practice, and this community, I feel like I can accomplish anything

    My 6 year old son joined me for the first time today. So many giggles were shared as we both fell over a few times. He loved cobra and said “ah, finally, some cobras” each time we did one. Thank you for these practices!

    Good evening from Australia. A challenging day, some wins, many. Small things taking longer at work. Home to watch an Aussie stay composed and balance. Abs win a tennis match 😊my practice tonight I felt the most wobbly I have all 16 days, balance was not easy. Ending with body talking to me and she feels happy. Amazing namaste 🙏

    One thing I love about yoga is how it continues to teach me that paying attention to the slightest adjustment makes a huge difference in the pose, especially when it comes to balance. Your reminders of those small adjustments in this practice were particularly helpful. Thank you.

    Find it so beneficial starting my day with yoga! Harder to do on a non-work day with baby but it’s still before getting out for the day so I’m happy with that ☺️🧘🏼‍♀️
