- My brother has gotten me into cigars in the last year or so and it has been nice to enjoy the experience and the investment of time with others.
A friend joked about the purchased humidor that I presented so I decided that was the last time and it was a good idea to make a DIY Humidor!

This humidor is a simpled mitered box design but to spice it up I CNCed a honeycomb pattern around the entire box. The lid is held in place with morticed quadrant hinges.

Deffo need a Spanish cedar lining. Not just for humidity but to eliminate those pesky microscopic bugs that love to bury themselves in the cigars. Spanish cedar is poisonous to them.
I have added cedar wafers. Thanks for watching!
You should check out Blake Weber’s humidor build! He set up a whole jig and used a palm router to cut his box out!
Will take a look, thanks for watching!
Nice work. I too recommend Spanish cedar liner.
One of my new favorite's is the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor.
Thanks for sharing!
And I have added cedar wafers, was always the plan
My husband wears them same boots 😂
A thin layer of Spanish cedar will help with humidity and longevity of the cigars.
One of my go to smokes is a Monte Cristo White Label #2
I have added cedar wafers! Have had a few Monte Cristo's, all very good so far!
I had a set of Carolina boots one while doing some demo work. When a knocked half a piece of 3/4 MDF off the wall, the composite toe shattered like glad and it broke my toe. While I liked the fit of the boot and they have lasted a long time, the composite toe is worthless for toe protection. Just an FYI.
Nice build tyler. Cpl things though hygrometer is the tool that measures humidity. Also in the future line it with spanish cedar. And also i would use the silicone inside humidor. The cigars will absorb any smells or off gassing. Spanish cedar does a cpl things aroma kills any cigar beetles that may have hatched from eggs tht werent killed during flash freeze process and it helps with moisure and adds notes to cigar.
I have added cedar wafers, was always my plan just didn't have them for the video. Thanks for watching!
Weed wrapped with a grape swisher sweet cigar seems to be popular around my village
Hmm, will take a pass there!
cedar
and why the wraps around the cigars?
Beautiful humidor !! Your attention to detail is always enjoyed and your builds are always impressive. Living in the Tampa area, Arturo Fuente cigars are a favorite down here.
Thanks for the suggestion! And for being a long time subscriber!
Tyler, you knocked it out of the park! Absolutely stunning look and now that I’ve bought my CNC and expand into this world, I may have to make an amazing design and maybe a humidor. I used to have several humidors many years ago when I was into cigars. My favorites at the time were Cohibas, Rothmans, and when I wanted a dark cigar, Onyx and Maduro. That honeycomb pattern looks amazing and wish you do more CNC projects. And as a side note, always seems like your dust bin light or going off. Come on man!!! 🤣
lol, this was a one day built.....so yea, filled the dust bin and just kept on trucking!
Thanks for the suggestions and for watching!
@DIYTyler You could have simply told your friends that you don't need to fill a box with ego, just cigars. Keep doing what makes you happy, just don't burn anyone in the process.
lol! Good stuff!
Amazing work!
Try EP Carrillo “encore”, and Padron 1964 and 26
Thanks, so many to try!
Nice, but no Spanish Cedar?
Have added cedar wafers in there!
Try the Rocky Patel 1999. They are on the mild side and very smooth
Thanks for the suggestion! Have had a few RPs, so far so good!
Nice humidor. I.would suggest trying a 1926 Anniversary Padron Madura. It doesn’t get much better than that.
That sounds great! I have so many to try after seeing all the comments!
We’ll done. I smoke mostly Oliva cigars, V Series when I splurge. Their budget brand Flor de Oliva are available from Atlantic Cigars online for about $2.50 a stick. Good value.
Cannot beat an Oliva V Double Toro! Spotted the different Oliva labels in Tyler’s new box. Nice to see he is a fan too.
I have a few Oliva's but haven't gotten around to them yet! Thanks for the suggestion
Great build it turned out very nice
Thanks a bunch!
Cool box. Wouldn't have taken you for a cigar smoker. Definitely enjoy seeing more of your personality come through in the videos.
It's a new thing, last year or so. I didn't used to care for them, but I believe I never tried anything decen't until recently.
Thanks for watching and being a long time subsriber!
Plasencia sixto I & II are my favorites
Nice! Haven't had a Plasencia yet, thanks for the suggestion!
Mine, too--if I can't get an Andalusian Bull from LFD. Love those Sixtos.
@@joelwinter4956 definitely like those bulls too
Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne are my favorites.
Also I think your dust collector is full. That red light was flashing the whole video. 😜
I haven't enjoyed a Perdomo yet, but have heard they are good.
Yes, filled the dust bin and kept on trucking!
Great job it turned out great
Thanks!
Beautiful humidor. Staining it was definitely the right way to go for the finish. Also, just an fyi, it’s actually hygrometer, not hydrometer.
Thanks for the info!
Hi Tyler, Have you ever tried Cohiba cigars? They are just heaven!
I haven't yet! Thanks for watching!
Wish I could give this more than just one "Thumbs Up"! Awesome!!
Thank you!
Watching this video…….while having a cigar. Cheers
Doesn't get better than that, thanks for watching!
Do you have any issues with holes from the corner clamps? I make boxes and don't really want to be filling up holes, no matter how small.
Will always get little dimples, a drop of water on the hole will often pop it out.
Random question, but does anyone know or recognise the watch model?? ⌚
Nothing special! It's a timex expedition.
Thanks for watching!
Cedar!?
I've added cedar wafers inside...was always the plan. Thanks for watching!
I enjoy smoking a pipe. I really love cult blood red moon or chocolate mousse.
My husband has both slip on and tie up them boots are so ugly 🤣
The volume jump at 1:30 destroyed my ears. :(
Sorry, but not a fan of the inside where you appiled the silcone. Looks terrible on the inside oif the lid.
