LOVE NJ!!! So much diversity in geography, people, and experiences. Plus, so many people from all over the world and all across the U.S. -- different cultures, different ideologies, different perspectives and experiences, even different languages and foods -- LOVE IT!! Definitely not your kind of state if you're one of those people who wants to "stick with your own kind" (maybe that's OP). It's also called Pork Roll in Central Jersey. I've lived here for over 50 years and worked in construction for about 40 of that. Having worked in almost every county, save a few, I've found north of the Raritan river closer to NY it tends to be called "Taylor" ham. From Central Jersey south and out towards the west, Burlington and Mercer county it's generaly called "Pork" roll.
After a childhood in central NJ and an adult life in northern NJ, I moved to North Carolina six years ago. Last week I found blueberries from Hammonton, NJ and they were HEAVEN. Whatever New Jersey's faults are, they grow the BEST blueberries.
Not sure why you’d say NJ has no culture or things to do. With so many nationalities here I think it has the most things to do of any state. And with NYC just across the river there’s even more options.
@@BizarroLanigirod depends what you're into but we pretty much have it all. For those that like the outdoors we have everything from the beach to the mountains. Not to mention, after 9/11 they started building beautiful buildings in Jersey City. And building it up nicely! It’s an awesome town right across the water to the World Trade Center. We got it all in Jersey. Obviously you are NOT from New Jersey!!! The worst part of Jersey is it is a Democratic state!!! That’s changing too. We are also the second richest state!!!
Also Jersey city is becoming high class in many areas so he put no contect on saying it was the worst place. Jersey city property went up almost 500% in less than a decade and high rises up the ass it's not really accurate to put it in a category with Camden

When I lived in PA I would exchange cigarettes for booze over the border and gas up cheap and in luxury in NJ. I live in AZ like the other commenter and our gas prices are higher.
This is so WRONG. Burlington County is 10 minutes outside of Philly. The murder rate is extremely low and the homes are nice. Jersey is expensive and nice. Never heard of Jew Jersey. Yeah but it’s really boring in South Jersey, but it all depends on what you prefer which is the good thing. Depending on your speed you can live in any part.
I agree, they are gentrifying the city areas and making it sky high, like it’s nice that everything is close with out driving. Like when I went to live back in Central NJ, it was like here I go always driving but I don’t mind it that bad just that I have to travel but nothing too far. 30 min tops.

Yes, it's expensive -- not sure we'll be able to retire here when that time (finally) comes ... but I sure do love it. (The attitude is a full-on bonus.)
And don't forget the variety of food available in Jersey. Go into a supermarket in North Carolina and you'l see what I mean.
Proud to be NJ 🥳
The U.S government made it a whole entire sanctuary state which of course brought in thousands of central & south american "migrants" as well as bringing in "foreign nationals" from asian countries like india/korea and quietly placing them in suburban neighborhoods due to the large exodus of new jerseyans leaving the state because of high property taxes, cost of living, a continuous sky high crime rate, a sky high unemployment rate, etc., It's basically the governments way of trying to fill the "VOID" by repopulating the state in order to stabilize its economy.

North Jersey - "Taylor Ham"
South Jersey - "Pork Roll"
This is the true dividing line of north and south Jersey.

We call it pork roll in North Jersey
It's also called Pork Roll in Central Jersey. I've lived here for over 50 years and worked in construction for about 40 of that. Having worked in almost every county, save a few, I've found north of the Raritan river closer to NY it tends to be called "Taylor" ham. From Central Jersey south and out towards the west, Burlington and Mercer county it's generaly called "Pork" roll.

Update your info on Jersey city.
10 years ago the brownstone on the corner sold for 100,000.
2019 it's going for 3,000,000.000
You got that right. There's a building in downtown Newark that 10 years ago you would be lucky to get 100k for it. Today it's worth 2.5 mil on zillow

Since when does New Jersey have one of the highest gas prices in the country? I always thought it was one of the lowest. It’s certainly lower than in surrounding states.
In PA its way higher and we have to pump it ourselves, should get an employee discount. Even the shore towns in summer have cheaper gas then us.
