The Lockout Strategy - Iron Thorns EX

Ability locking cards are some of the most powerful and annoying cards to deal with. Trainers who have been playing since before our current rotation, will know all too well about a certain card called Path to the Peak. An incredibly annoying card that many players are happy to see gone. While ability locking cards still exist in our format, none of them are game changingly powerful. However Twilight Masquerade might be changing things up, a Path to the Peak style card will be released in this set, but is it just as powerful or have its effects been toned down? Let's take a look at Iron Thorns EX.

This card does wonders for the Miraidon vs Charizard matchup, they're forced to boss before evolving and it can return KO a Pidgeot

A quad thorns deck is just meme level

If Dragpult wasn't a thing the quad Thorns deck could actually be insane but that isn't the case. Match-up fishing is usually bad and when you're not fishing for the most used deck it's not worth it at all

This card as a 1 of in miraidon is insane case miraidon itself has a great dragapult match up.
