Honestly it was weird that the storm troopers were about to shoot phasma just because a traitor told them something. Like they trusted Finn which would be awkward.
That was my first taught as well. Yesterday some people criticized that Finn don't have a story arch. I pretty pissed of to the editors, because Finn see what Phasma, the suppose to be role model of the trooper ready to sacrifice for keep herself safe. Also she could be the first person from the ranks to except Kylo Ren for Supreme Leader, because she don't have any ideology, just simply want to survive. That could be Finn final motive to turn a Rebel scum after all, if the First Order lead by a bunch of hypocrites he should do something, like Cardinal did.
When I saw her without a helmet, I knew how the issue would end. I love EU Phasma. She is ruthless. Also, we do see her take a blaster bolt at close range and it barely scratches the armour. We also know Stormtrooper armor is fire proof. She totally could have survived that fall in The Last Jedi.
Agreed that it's nothing new (for those of us the read everything), but it was still immensely fun to read and witness and top notch dialogue (I was a HUGE fan of Taylor's All-New Wolverine Series). It's a Zapp Brannigan style of winning, "You see, killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down." Phasama is probably a fan of velour too hahaha
Love this comic issue. If there is a Captain Phasma tv show spinoff on Disney + Streaming service I’m Totally on board. Hope it can reveal more about Pyre, Vonreg and Tierny too.
She has something hidden very interesting inside her, a secret aim, for sure, she could be a sort of spy or smithing like this, as she's fighting for something very important that we don't now already. And that is why she must have a great part in the next episodes from 10th to ... (11th)
The _Phasma_ novel indicated that no-one in the First Order has seen Phasma’s face, and that she likes it that way, so her showing it to a random Stormtrooper (if not to us) seems a little out of character to me. Otherwise, this comic is spot-on.
And yeah, of course comics are gonna add more story to a fail of a character, but it just doesn’t make sense that it doesn’t get portrayed like that in the movie if it’s supposed to been a character with that history behind, I mean I could make a comic about jarjar being a strong Jedi that could have been hiding his powers and o it would make sense

I find Phasma an interesting character since she is one of the few characters that I can 100% say is a psychopath-- not a sociopath, a psychopath. she has no care for her soldiers or anyone that isn't her and her and her alone, she revels in the death and carnage she willingly partakes in.

Phasma's line about a "disposable shield of patriotic idiots" made me audibly gasp while reading, it really spoke to me. It's so relatable, especially in today's world.
I dunno, man... This issue was good, but it either made me feel glad that someone was able to write her character the right way again, or even more disappointed about her appearance in TLJ
Eh I liked the first comic with Phasma in it significantly more. I get that they want to press the idea that phasma is willing to betray anyone for any reason a moments notice but it almost makes it seem like that her only gimmick and she can’t think up other strategies. I almost wish they showed ANOTHER way that she some how survived falling into the inferno of the supremacy as ridiculous as that sounds, the whole aftermath of star killer base with her was awesome so seeing what depths she would have gone through to survive again would have been amusing.

Phasma isn't supposed to be empowering to women. That's what Rey and Leia are for. Phasma is a full stop villain, and is supposed to be about as much a role model as Tarkin. Unless it's a rated G kids movie, not all villains need redeeming qualities.
Phasma represents exactly whats wrong with the new Star Wars era. Cool stuff happening in books and comics that most of the fandom does not read. On screen performance is lackluster at best.

Phasma had the impression of looking cool, but she never was... just a big waste of time. She should've sacrificed herself instead, or along with her troopers. The fact that she has a bulletproof armor when her subordinates do not tells you everything you need to know about her. She’s out for her own survival
This is the 3rd time we see Phasma do something useful. The 2017 Comic is about no witnesses and the Novel where she’s a total badass

Naming an iron planet Demir makes sense. Demir is Turkish for iron.

It’s a shame this interesting character dynamic will never be featured on film given Phasma’s actual treatment in the movies.

If you really think about it her death was karmic, she killed everyone as if they were nothing and thus died as a nothing.
