The Viper keeping his cool even after losing a TC to the the early pressure, and then taking his sweet old time to systematically wrestle the center island out of Daut's hands, is peak performance. What a way to stay in control of the game even when he seemed to be losing.
@@cfban he always had so little army, Viper had no gold at the start of the push, Daut should have used all his gold into savar instead of hand cannoneer and kamandaran for trashbows, he could have massed a lot of xbows before hitting imp and won earlier. I think Daut took gold for granted and tried to do both savar and hand cannoneer for a powerful push but ended up losing the middle and losing his heavy cavalry because he invested so much gold into hc.
Plus his production on land and sea was too low, besides if he went for galleons with a little mass he could probably micro down halbs or just demos as they do very well. Demos would have slaughtered everything.
I feel he got hard countered for so long. Why no Kamandaran crossbows? Or literally anything except expensive heavy cavalry? Even longswords will beat a guy who's making halbs and nothing else.
The reason why goths get dromons is because they're a classical age civ from before gunpowder and the only reason why they are a classical age civ with hand cannoneers is cause originally they represented spain as well.

Kamandaran + more lumberjacks would have saved Daut, idk why he was so stubborn to do that.
Maybe he was fearing a huskarl rush if he went with crossbows? Still better to lose trash crossbows to gold units, than expensive cavaliers to trash.
