💯 a popular tweeter tweeted his message and i fell in love with the vibration of his words. This is the first I've heard of him today. I think my newly woke soul was born in the wrong time but not really lol. Or I came from that time lol. Wish I could see him in person. ❤ so refreshing

I can't get enough of this man's most prophetic, inspiring, awareness-expanding and linguistically engaging mind. I wish I had a friend like him to talk to.

Take lessons from what Terence did and read and explore as many things as you can.
Terence understandings of literature, physics, and most anything that could enlighten
his view point is what developed his thinking and should be a model for each of us. ☘

The part you chose for the intro about "who do you think you are? what do you think English is?" etc. always signified this talk for me as one of the really special ones. While mostly Terence's message stayed the same, sometimes he seemed to have been in an unusual mood, or place in life, and he allowed himself to talk more freely and give his talk a particular flavor or unique angle of approach.
Thanks for uploading it with the soothing pink noise and soft music 😘

When I was in the Navy I thought I found an escape. 2 months on my second ship I dropped acid and smoked a bunch of weed and hash. I changed my mind about war and requested to be discharged. Long story short it all worked out but drugs were mind blowing for sure. I listen to Terrance and am grateful for his views on the human condition.

If only there were a way to have 10% of the population (e.g. those in leadership roles) experience a fully immersive psychedelic experience. Terrance could see what we are experiencing today, 40 years ago. Feeding the ego leads to the total destruction of our home, ego-death will save us all.

I like the idea, but I don't think everyone is ready for the high dose. Lower doses for everyone, but high doses only for those that self-select themselves. Most people are not ready to be unplugged. Many people are so inured, so hopelessly dependant on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

    • @crono3339

I definitely agree, though I think having a community of people to help them integrate it is very important. Also to understand that psychedelics aren't magic bullets. I've met people who did enormous amounts of psychedelics and their ego was huge. Having they idea that they were somehow above other people's worth because of their experiences. Though rare, I feel like it would be a disaster to see the megalomaniac politicians of the world get an even bigger head haha. But mostly I think it could be an enormous benefit for mankind if their egos were absolutely smashed and they (meaning leaders), were able to integrate and feel the consequences of the major decisions being made.

In a way Terence was a seeker after the truth of reality. When you hear him talking about his skepticism and non-belief you realise that he has eked out a few nuggets of ‘the real stuff’ to share, and you have the rare privilege of being present. Thanks Danit, for another lovely lecture.

I agree but I think he could see the current world we live in coming by the many talks of his I've listened to. His novelty idea was that things would become more and more complex and that means every process at play. Find some of his more obscure lectures where he was eerily prophetic though I think that's just because he payed very close attention!

"In the province of the mind, what one
believes to be true is true or becomes
true, within certain limits to be found

We humans are the abstract to the spritual realm as is the spritual realm to us an abstract. Like two mirrors facing the other we are bridging the gap between spirit and matter. No matter how life is lived out and especially in our times this is illuminating our way and growing at such a rate we are realizing now this is the essence of the universe on such a basic level we cannot stop, change or reverse what it is our destiny in relation to the universe . Ego , pride , ect no matter the approach, ultimately falls away of its own accord and every "good or bad" thing we Do perpetuates this universal Inertia. So made in "gods image" is really a self evident awareness of our true selfs. We certainly are our own gatekeeps as is the spirit realm it's own gate keeper. We are each compelled to exchange our gate keys willingly and with an understanding that rapid change is the byproduct of merely existing. Great responsibility We have here which only demands of us showing up for it. What a relief and freeing of ego that comes with this understanding.

His ideas were in some way very similar to Alan Watts ones, which are ego death and not believing in anything. He had a Zen and Hindu/Buddhist insight and way of thinking, but also he added all the part of psychodelics. He was extremely intelligent.

10:39 - There's a political issue here. I think most people in this room, most people who have had the psychedelic experience, will agree that the most profound, the most open-hearted, the most moving moments of their lives, some of them have been tied in with those experiences, but we seem unable or unwilling or afraid to extrapolate that conclusion to the notion that this is a general panacea for society, because we cannot conceive that the solution to a spiritual dilemma could lie in matter. In other words, we ourselves, have been infected by the inside-outside matter-spirit dichotomies of the dominator culture, that the notion that man (notice the gender thrust here) could somehow bootstrap himself to Godhead without reference to nature seems to me highly peculiar and simply nothing more than an expression of hubris; pride; a belief that we can do it our way and alone.

    • @artemisXsidecross

Psychedelics are like ‘turning on the lights’ in a dark room and can help
navigate, but you are still in a room. Truth and reason may not bring
meaning to an anticipated focus. We are each alone on the mountain top

I did a great deal during my 20's, towards the end on a series of mushroom trips I was told everything that had been unveiled and I was not to return. There was nothing more to say and I was to put everything I had been taught in facing and dealing with the reality of living. I'm 55 now and I'm still doing this, it works for me and those years of tripping are years I cherish and will never forget, for they shaped me into the person that I am today. I only wish that I could show the normals what they have missed out on.
