Did anyone count the number of BMW's that came to grief they were so numerous I lost counting early on, but they are always ready to entertain us at the Nurburgring.

The Green Hell living up to its name. The localised rain is scary - you have no idea what the road is going to be like around the next corner.
The track marshals do a great job considering the length of the course and the number of hazard points they have to cover.

My preference is the guys out there wrecking the family car for my viewing enjoyment.
They would feel more sorry cuz it's their money while a racer got their car on sponsorship and will just get out and walk it off like nothing.

I went there, you literally just turn up, pay a fee and enter the track. They don’t check drivers, vehicles, safety, absolutely nothing. I couldn’t believe it.

Too fast coupled with a lack of skill can kill.
You can notice how almost every person crashing is a person going faster than everybody else. Simulators like GT7 may not provide the best physics or grip simulation but they sure teach you how driving stupid leads to crashing. You don't get to crash 10 times in a row on the real track but you get to do it in a simulator. That's their entire purpose. Cuz you learn not to be stupid and that safer is faster.
