Hey Destiny I might try to reach out to you but I don't know how. *1:08:22* it's called sexual racism meaning selective breeding it's not always bigoted but it is what it is. Aba is a dark humor comedian that's why he made it on right wing leaning TH-cam.

Abs is annoying with his virtue signaling to the redpill community.
The point is, why care to the point your panties are twisted? Fat people are either gonna stay fat or get skinny. It’s their decision. Aba spent the entire pandemic talking about people making their own personal decisions and here he is shaming people for making their own personal decision. And we know he’s virtue signaling because Preach is fat but when this topic comes up does he ever try to lecture preach? No, he doesn’t. But he’ll lecture people he doesn’t even know or care about…cringe.
I have overweight friends. I don’t criticize them because it’s on THEM to lose weight. I’m not gonna sit there and shame them for their decisions that has no affect on anyone else but them.
Also, he brought up how it’s a bad counter argument to say there’s fat healthy people and unhealthy in shape people…but that’s a good argument when he’s got his entire comment section saying how fat=unhealthy

@@jamesdoakes4956 I don't know why you deleted your comment but that was a good reply. We are in the TH-cam game if making money plus all sides pander but to what degree. I don't take everything they say seriously. It's like Playback they demonize Fresh and Fit yet they claim they're part of the game culture & they feel every Black should be used to racism
So they crtize Blacks to get views and virtual signal that's why they lied about Jews being a race and thinking Blacks and Whites will support them it backfired when they said Blacks thinm they're get keepers but 007 and Low generalize the most.

Destiny: Putting on muscle is way more understood than losing weight
And everything he had to say about this matter was incredibly eye opening for me as a relatively newish watcher of Destiny's content. Now that I know that he has the ability to get frothing angry while being completely incorrect about something, even going so far as to lash out at Aba saying rightfully so that any personal trainer (and you can add any kinesiologist, any nutritionist, any semi-serious athlete) would agree that burning fat/losing weight a direct result of energy expenditure and caloric intake and that research into muscle growth, and the actual physiological nuance of that study is on-going and way under-developed in understanding.
If Destiny can be this confidently unhinged while being incorrect it really calls into question how he's seemingly confident about other fairly benign and WIDELY understood topics.
Just because mental health, habits etc are a factor of whether or not a person can motivate themselves to stick to a healthier routine, this can be true without at all having an impact on the mechanical facts of weight loss. "Gaining muscle is as simple as picking up heavy things and putting them down" is a gross over simplification of the mechanical reality of gaining muscle, but the same mental health shit that's got Destiny lost in the weeds being retarded can be applied to gaining muscle too. If you can't motivate yourself to stick to a weight lifting routine due to your mental health, then by his logic it's just as nebulously hard to understand and overcome.
"PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BUILDING MUSCLE FOR OUR ENTIRE HUMAN HISTORY" alright, this is the gift that just keeps on giving.

    • @Thedamped
      @Thedamped 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

lol, when he gets frothing at the mouth triggered he loses his careful considered speech and commonly overstates stuff. He also has a really bad habit of not being able to admit he overstates stuff when he is upset and if later someone asks him about it when he's no longer upset, he'll generally weave a big web to explain how actually it was completely reasonable.
But, I don't think he's really that off base here. I'm not an expert on this but I've read a fair amount of literature on exercise, dieting, and weight loss (not much on building muscle though). Some of the stuff he's pushing back on is conventional wisdom that empirical research doesn't bear out. I skipped through the video a bit though, I can't really stand the multi-party screaming matches. So I might have missed something.
For example, I was a bit surprised to hear Kyla (who's also usually pretty reasonable/reliable) say (something like) the best advice you can give a fat person is to put on muscle. Every paper I've ever read that compared diet to exercise (both cardio and resistance training, with reasonable interventions) found that caloric restriction is far superior in weight loss. And anecdotally (if that's your thing), scrolling through the comments here you see tons of success stories about losing weight through caloric restriction and I haven't seen a single one (yet) claiming to have lost a bunch of fat from just gaining muscle. From my experience when I increase my activity I tend to get hungrier so I have to control my hunger one way or the other.
My understanding of the comment about pick thing up, put thing down, gain muscle was more just saying, if you do that, you will gain muscle mass. Not to say that the perfect regimen for muscle gain is completely understood in totality. Though I could be wrong.
Also, as someone who has watched Destiny for several years, he is wrong about things sometimes. And his views change over time. When I first started watching him in 2016 he was pro-life and had some (imo) bad arguments to support his positions that didn't feel that well thought through or informed by biology. But where he's at now feels really reasonable even though I still don't totally agree with him.

Kyla is absolutely right about more muscle mass = higher metabolic rate. If you’ve never done the work, gained the muscle, and lived the process successfully, then you just can not relate or act like that’s incorrect meanwhile you’re physique looks like shit. It’s a slow long process of training and teaching your body to utilize food correctly and build the muscle (along with fat), as well as spiking the metabolism. most don’t have discipline for that. At any time after putting on muscle and fat you can change the food in specific ways to drop your body fat and retain majority if the muscle mass gained. That’s where having more muscle fibers needing to use up more energy requires the metabolism to be working, which is only achieved through carefully training your body to use food in that way.

It's a stupid point though because the effect is neglible. A pound of muscle increases RMR by 6 calories a day, so even if you somehow managed to gain 50 pounds of muscle you would only increase RMR by 300.

    • @Yrgzip0
      @Yrgzip0 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ravnkelskoldulv8511 You realize that’s per day though. Burning an extra 300 calories a day would result in a lb of fat lost every 11.6 days. Even though 50lbs of muscle added is unrealistic, a beginning lifter is expected to gain 15-25lbs. So their RMR would increase by 90-150 per day or 630-1,050 per week. A lb of fat is roughly 3500 calories. I guess in the short run you won’t see much of a difference, but it definitely adds up over time.

48:20 that was a bad faith argument on Destiny's part. What he did there was make a non-parity analogy. So for the weightlifters, he says that all the weightlifters have to do is follow the program and they're going to gain weight. And for the weight losser, what he said is that no matter what program you give them, they're going to find some way to not do the program correctly and as a consequence of that, they're not going to lose the weight. You see the difference between the two different sides there. On the weightlifter sides you're saying that they're going to use the program and do it correctly and so they're going to have the correct results. Then on the other side for the weight loss people, you're not making it analogous by saying that the people are also going to follow the weight loss plan correctly. You're saying they're not going to follow the program correctly and in that case they won't lose the weight. To correct Destiny's analogy what he should have said is people who go to the gym and follow a mass gaining program will gain weight and people who follow a diet to lose weight will not lose the weight. Now that's a more accurate statement in the sense that both sides of the analogy are following the plan correctly and the outcome of that plan is laid out, whereas the weight gainers are gaining weight by following the program and the weight losers are not losing the weight and they're also following the program.
But that's actually not the case. The weight losers if they were to actually follow the diet the way that it was attended to be followed would actually lose weight. So the most correct comparison Destiny should have said is that weight gainers who go to the gym and follow their workout program will gain weight as a consequence of following the program and dieters who follow the program will also lose weight as a consequence of following the program. The reason most people fail on diets is because they can't follow the program because they lack the ambition or willpower to do so. The program itself is not flawed and allows for weight loss to happen.

You can overcome obesity by never stepping foot in a gym lmao. The girl speaking @9:50 is a moron. I need to get into these debates. Losing weight is very, VERY simple. Calories in, walk 3-4 times a week around your neighborhood, at least a mile. You never have to go to a gym. In fact, if you're someone who's struggling with losing weight, I highly advise against a gym membership, because you'll get the membership and then hardly, if ever, go to the gym and you'll never cancel your membership. First, fix your diet. Once you do that, find a local park, get a book or something from Audible or podcast, and start walking. You'll be in a better mood too, especially since you're getting more Vitamin D, which is great for regulating your immune system and regulating your mood.
Sitting in front of a computer with a bad diet may not always make you fat, but it is 100% making you depressed. Seriously, just ONE HOUR, out of your day. GO for a walk. In fact, I'm gonna go do it right now with my dog.

There’s a massive difference between calling someone out for being overweight and unhealthy because they need it vs seeing someone heavier than you that IS HEALTHY AND FINE and thinking you’re in the right for talking down to them. No you’re weird if that’s your mindset. Friends roasting is different especially if they know when to stop and what boundaries are.
Bigger people as long as they aren’t steadily getting bigger and they’re healthy don’t need a stranger calling them out for being bigger. They know. I’m skinny as fuck and it’s not super healthy for my height which is 6’3 but I also have a fast metabolism and eat a lot so I can’t just gain that weight easily I lose faster than I gain. The reverse is true for some bigger people so you don’t get to be upset that they’re upset with your words.

Man, I have so much to say about this personally. I'm 34 as of today actually, I weigh around 230lbs, a few years ago I weighed about 405lbs. So, as much as I hate Lav, she's right ultimately in that if you're overweight, you really don't have to go to the gym to lose weight, you just need to eat less and eat differently. I lost about 200lbs in one year by just switching to keto, and eating less. One meal a day, every now and then I'd skip a day or two in a row. I read the book the Ketogenic Diet by a Canadian Dr here (tip of my tongue) and cutting out sugar/pasta/potatoes was only really hard for the first month or so, then got easy. AND I DID IT ON A SHIT DIET version of keto, where I'd just eat like, a couple sausages and some cut up cheese. Some deli meats to snack on every now and then. If or mostly go to mcDonalds and get some McDoubles without buns. You can eat like four of those in one sitting as a meal in a day and it's incredibly fatty and filling and is still not enough calories that an obese person won't just melt away while in ketosis.
I'm only just now starting to work out a bit, I had lost almost all of the weight in one year, and the last couple of years or so I've just maintained my weight, going on and off keto around holidays.
People should actually look into fasting, and just the incredible myth that is that we need to eat as much as we do. Kneejerk reaction from virtue signally chicks is that it'll cause you to start 'eating disorders', that's retarded, just learn about it and chill. Your body adapts incredibly quickly, we used to be hunters not just have pantries full of cookies and shit.
Also, in my experience being fat, I've NEVER been discriminated against in a gym in any way shape or form (if it matters, I'm Canadian I guess, but we have dicks too in general) the only time I could imagine it happening reasonably is one of the examples mentioned where I guess 14-16 year olds could maybe make fun of a fat person? Generally speaking I've only interacted with guys at the gym and they've always been SUPER down to support me and even ask me what my routine is, check my form, spot me, whatever. That perception is just some fat insecurity projection shit
ALSO, I am one of the types of people that benefit from fat shaming, knowing I need to do something about it and society reinforcing that it's not healthy, that fat people should change their outcome etc has definitely had an impact on me. And now at 405lbs to hovering in the 220-230 range, I too of course testify with everyone else that being fat sucks and people need to just stop fucking around, or die early and own it.
Also, appetite is controlled by a hormone called ghrelin, which is suppressed through eating less and dieting. So Destiny getting hung up during his full-retard mode about appetite is largely moot if he bothered to learn about any of this.

  • @note4note804
    @note4note804 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

One of the most annoying parts of the "fat shaming" dialogue here is they correctly point out that most of the gym shaming is self inflicted anxiety than it is people being awful, but they don't got the single step further and ask, "Hey fat person, why would you be so self conscious being in a room full of other people doing activities that highlight how fat and out of shape you are?". The point is that if we didn't publicly shit on people as a normalized attack against them, then fat people wouldn't be constantly thinking people are talking shit about them in an environment that's suppose to be about positive growth.

Look at Destiny. He supposedly go to a gym. He looks like a person who never lifted anything in his life.
      Even his posture is f@ked.
It took me like 6 month to learn about my body & start gaining muscles.
Do you know how long it takes you to kick out the bad food habits?
      It takes 3 days!!
Just don't eat for 3 days & the food cravings go away!!!
Humans can go without food for like 40 days. The danger is when your body starts eating muscles & internal organs.
If you are fat, you can probably double that time. Fat people have so much fat reserves, it would take months to kill a fat person.

My friend did 21 (or 24 days).
Guys at work all did like 7 days.
Watching me, my father start fasting over the weekends.
I had a colleague from India & her dad is a yogi guru. Their whole family do water fast every weekend & the very long fasts 2ce a years.
      All religions promote fasting.
      Even animals fast.
My dog when doesn't feel good, would stop eating for a few days.
Do you know that some dogs never over eat?
I've always heard/thought that animals always over eat.
I can give my dog his favorite food, but he never over eats. He usually eats like once a day after a walk.
Some days he eats at night!!
He was like 75-78lb all his life.
So you are telling me that people have less control than animals?
Well, I agree. And a lot of people are worse than animals & even more stupid.
But I don't think it's their fault. It's just we spoil people & let them behave emotionally & to be lazy ....
There are no more environmental pressures.
People don't have to hunt or even work.
You can't work if you are like 300lb.

    I'm a fat guy, here's the reality.
As a society (especially in the US) we need to be serious about combating obesity. It's absolutely true that being at a healthy weight has a massive positive impact in both life expectancy and life quality. We are failing are friends and family by just encouraging an unhealthy lifestyle.
It's equally true that bullying someone for being overweight serves no altruistic purpose. If you do it, you are simply an asshole. it will actively work against most people's will to lose weight, hence why many overweight folks fear judgement at the gym. For those that it does help, it is never more effective than other forms of social pressure that don't train them to believe their existence as a person is not accepted by society.

22:47 they're actually both kind of right. It is harder to continue to gain muscle but the first three to six months of working out you gain muscle very very easily because your body is not used to working out. Your body will gain muscle very rapidly, so in that sense, it is very easy to gain muscle. After the first years of continuing to work out then it becomes harder to gain muscle. The same could be said about losing weight. it's very easy to initially start to lose weight in a caloric deficit but at some point your body will normalize and plateau. Then you'll stop losing weight and you'll have to put extra pressures onto your body to continue the weight loss.
