    I have always been active and at age 70 grateful, Well I got strep and covid and it completely changed my world. I have been very sick. Today I started with your chair with dumbbells and it will be a slow process back but I'm ever so grateful for your video's. You have really helped me physically and emotionally.

    You are adorable! Love, love, love every workout! 66 years young, I am very focused on realizing my best BMI. My Doctor suggested I aim for 150 minutes of resistance training a week. Building to it and your classes truly are helping! Thank you!!!

      I'm so glad you guys like the video, thanks so much! Before I can get more seated videos made, try doing the standing 10 min arms videos (there are 5 of them) in a seated position. That will give some variety and I think they should be easy for you to modify. :)

    Loved doing this! Thank you so much for it, Lauren. And once again, I learned new exercises and useful tips from you. Should have used heavier weights though I can hardly feel any soreness in my muscles. But it really toned my whole body.

      Hi Mark. Have you done the 10 minute chair workouts? I filmed them all so that they could be fit together for an entire workout. For example, 10 min chair cardio - 10 min arm strength - 10 min abs - 10 min stretch

    Back in February, I had a knee injury. It was painful and very frustrating because I usually walk every day. I entered into physical therapy that was twice a week. I had stretches and exercises to do but I also wanted a bit more activity. I found your chair routines and they were so helpful! This is a great workout for while I'm in a walking boot. In addition to doing it twice, instead of doing it seated, I wore the walking boot on one foot and stood on a balance pad with the other foot. It gave me a little extra workout in both legs and in my core. Thanks for the variety of workouts! It's great to know I can find anything to suit my needs.

    Lauren. I have arthritis of the fingers and hands. I’m using wrist weights to avoid grasping weights. I feel like I’m getting the same benefits but am wondering if I can cause myself any issues by not using hand weights. I’m enjoying the weight exercises and would be disappointed if I couldn’t do them with wrist weights. Let me know what you think. Btw love, love, love your videos. So glad you are loving my videos! Please continue using your wrist weights. It's wonderful that they work well for you because of your arthritis. You will not be causing any issues by not using weights. Worst case is that you won't be using your forearms as much because you are not gripping a weight. But I wouldn't worry too much about that. Keep up the good work :)

    Good arm workout. Is it a good idea to use a lighter weight for one arm that does not feel as strong as the other? 💙

    • @SeniorShapeFitness
      @SeniorShapeFitness  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Is your one arm not as strong because it's not your dominant arm? or did you have an injury? If you are recovering from an injury or surgery then yes, you can use a lighter weight. But if it is just weaker then try to use the same size weights for both arms. You'll want to balance things out and increase the strength in that arm!

    Didn't realize the strength portion was only 10 minutes, but it was still challenging with 5# weights! Would you consider doing some workouts without music? For older people, it's much harder to hear voice instruction when there is ambient background noise (music).

      This is one of my older videos. I agree in my older videos the music is too loud.

      @@SeniorShapeFitness Thanks for the response Lauren. I understand that some like the music. Given that many of your videos are geared to seniors, I was hoping that you'd do some with a "no music" option.

    Hi,
    I think you need to remix the music on this video. For the first half the music volume is so high it is distracting and competes with your voice. The second half is fine. This was a nice routine…good for the arms on a day when the hips are too cranky for s standing workout.

    • @SeniorShapeFitness
      @SeniorShapeFitness  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate the heads up Deb. This is an older video where the mix wasn't quite figured out yet. Unfortunately, once the video is posted I am not able to alter it. If it's too bothersome to you, I would recommend one of my standing 10 min upper body workouts and just do them sitting in a chair.

      Some of my workouts do, usually the ones with timers, but they are just 15 seconds. Because I’m using light weights in this workout there are no breaks, I intentionally choreographed it that way. Please take breaks if you need them

    Love this workout, thank you! The one thing is, I just really wish there was a version of this video without the "bat wings", "still waves", and "arm jiggle" commentary during the side arm lifts section. I'm sure its well intentioned, but not only does it seem uncomfortably close to body shaming (and makes me feel sad every time I hear it), but also because I'm not looking at the screen to keep my neck aligned it would be much more helpful to hear all the reps counted out instead.

      I’m glad you enjoyed the workout, but I’m sad to hear that you feel the comments are close to body shaming. I feel that my channel is very inclusive and I would never put anyone down. I appreciate you letting me know and I will certainly be taking your feedback into consideration.
