The reason why those dresses are not "conservative" is because back in the days weddings and especially Henna + Outiya days were gender segregated. So it used to be a female only celebration. Moreover, back in my grandma's days, it was also common to cover the stomach with a fine layer of mousseline or "Chabka" ( a sort of crossed embroidered layer) or even Maryoul Fadhila and other styles of lacy undershirts and the stomach wouldn't show tooo much. There are many Tunisian dresses that come in 2 pieces (either top + skirt, or top + pants), they vary in styles of embroidery and cities of origins (e.g Fouta w Blouza, Keswa Kabbous Gharek, Tarayoun, Marsaoui, Tabdila Nabliya, etc etc....).

Wedding customs are very different from one city to another (the number of events or parties, organizer, etc) You'll still still find the same outfits mostly used in most of coastal cities. However, other cities have very different outfits.
In fact, Tunisian wedding parties were not mixed-gender. So, women felt comfortable wearing Tunisian keswas which show some skin. Most women used to where sefseri (traditional Tunisian veil) whenever they go out. Most Tunisians are conservative.

That's a typical traditional tabdila, there's no 'conservative' tabdila, unless it's for hijabi girls. We love our Tunisian traditional tabdila.
