No! This is a common rail diesel system the way you say works only on old gasoline engines without direct injection. In newer diesel cars bleeding the fuel system is a must, or else you risk damaging the high pressure diesel pump@@mr.spokesman5849
After this you must prime the fuel pump for 2 minutes to remove air from system

You have to take the air out of the system.
You do so by activating the electrical fuel pump
