This shows only installation of the filter. However, due to there being air now in the fuel system - what do you do about it? Do you cycle the ignition, let the pressure build up in the system, them slightly open the injector fasteners to let the air out? At least that's how it's done on VAG cars. Anyway. Just bought a 2012 530d and am involved in "replace everything" process. Thanks for the video, greetings from Latvia.
Scan tool will run the pump for you for 3 minutes if it has good enough features if you plan on keeping cost down you will need it for new battery and fault diagnosis
before the fuel filter is changed, it is possible without Scan tool, just run the Starter button, wait a few seconds and start the engine

@@fritac91Yes we do it every time at BMW, just prefill the filter as good as u can if youre scared.
We never use tech for a fuel filter, waste of time.

do you need a computer to prime the fuel system？
No, just prefill it and let the ignition on for about 60 seconds and youre good
