And here I am casually blowing my dps load all in the opening seconds of the fight and just using abilities as they build up and/or come off cool down.
kinda what I love about MCH. If you do a good opener, the job basically plays itself; it literally plays like a machine where all the gears click in place
I recently got into machinist and it's an amazing job! seeing all these openers and rotation... looks like a lot of muscle memory, right? time to sit down and learn //D but thank you so so much for the guide! it helps so much!!
Thank you for this, I've just switched to Machinist being my main, I'm really enjoying it so far but have not been maxing my output and this is really helpful. I actually tried watching guides by Caetsu Chaiji Ch., nothing personal but I couldn't get into their guides, I found it difficult to follow and wasn't a fan of their teaching style. This channel is much more my speed, subscribed.
Ngl i've been a reaper main since i got my first class to 70, and I'm finally looking to try a ranged dps... and boy from the first 4 minutes this job sounds really, really similar to reaper.
Makes sense but I am also a needs a write up to learn type person. Would you happen to know where one could find a complete write up of a entire two minute rotation that timestamps "use this at insert minute:seconds here" that I can just hammer into my head?
theres one for the standard opener at 2.5 gcd in the machinist gear calc, use !faq gearcalc in the balance discord. But I’d recommend learning broader concepts like battery timings and understanding whether or not you can hc or not. That’ll reduce the amount of thinking you need to do and would make you more flexible around downtime and non 2.5 gcds.
@@Juliacare thanks will look into that. And this is to help lay the groundwork. For some reason MCH never clicked for me but can do stuff like NIN, BLM, and BRD without any real thinking going on. Its mainly I understand the burst and openers, but no one says what you do in the downtime.
Delayed simply said puts more potency into raid buffs and thus has a higher aDPS in vacuum. There are fights out there where the delay can lose you a usage of a tool, in those cases other openers will have preference
There isn't really a reason anymore to have an odd minute burst, we had this before due to a possible trick attack but they changed this since this video was made. Just make sure you have 50 heat and 90-100 battery for your next even minute burst without overcapping. That's all you have to do.
There's something that's been bothering me since I've seen it on the description of the move even before the 6.3. Wildfire of course can fit 6 gcds no if, ands, or buts about that. Hypercharge only has 5 stacks for heat blast of course too, but it has 10s before it goes away and gives an additional 20 weapon damage which matters I believe. Would you be able to after a gcd weave Reassemble (if available) and Hypercharge into a Chainsaw, Drill, or Air Anchor then weave if available Wildfire and Queen/Gauss/Richochet then proceed with the usual Heat Blast nuking and one more gcd that can fit in Wildfire's prog if it was used?
wildfire’s full potential is 1 2.5 gcd and 5x heatblast. If you use any gcd other than heatblast under hypercharge then a stack will be consumed which will make it so you can’t fit 6 gcds under wf anymore. You always want to spend hypercharge stacks on heatblast or its aoe variant.
@@Juliacare jogging it down in my head with the realization about hydrercharge and is fully accurate. Thank you for that clarification because I really wasn’t paying attention when testing it because I wasn’t looking at the stacks after looking again. This job is simple af knowing I don’t have to keep that myth in my head
I know this is like 8 months late, but does the opener change if you have a Ninja doing TA? Or a dancer with Technical Step? IS it because Drill/Chainsaw will still be in the TA/TechStep DPS Boost window? Or do we change our opener because of the TA window? Does Queen recalculate every attack or is her damage output snap-shotted when she's summoned? What's the scale factor for each bit of energy above 50 for Queen? Does anyone else think of MCH as a wand-mage?
Heya, Our opener doesn’t change depending on comps. We default to the delayed tools opener and only go early aa or other non standard openers if doing a delayed tools opener loses us a tool. Currently thats only the case in p12p1 where we use the general purpose/early aa opener. Queen snapshots buffs on every auto attack she does. Above 50 battery, queen scales liniair. Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean we just spam her as we’d lose damage by not putting more battery into buffs which can net you up to - 40% damage increase on actions used inside.
@@Juliacare Ok, thank you. Additional question, does Wildfire snapshot buffs/debuffs when it goes off or when it's first cast? I'm suspecting when it goes off as each GCD ability improves its potency.
@snugglyhugs8698 The total amount it explodes for will benefit from all the buffs that it had when it was first applied. Although it cannot crit or dhit, so it wont gain benefit from those buffs.
Hey Julia sorry after playing Drg for so long I've started to play Mch I just wanted to ask after the opener for the rotation in odd windows we basically keep tools on CD and build resources for Even windows?
So my question is after the opening rotation to a fight are you just using everything on cool down while also timing it with barrel stabilizer for the even minute burst?
Everything on cooldown, and aim to enter 2 minute burst with 50 or more heat. And queen every minute so a 80-100 battery queen aligns with buff windows.
Hello. For delayed tool even minutes burst why do you want to release the queen before air anchor? Understandable if it's 90-100 but if it's less why not air anchor b4 letting her loose?
I don't know if I should learn this stuff or just stick to pushing buttons whenever they come off cooldown. I mean I'm just doing dungeons, not even extreme trials much less ultimates 😂 so much to do, so little time.
I'm a little confused about the general purpose even minutes burst. If you use your tools at every cooldown then it doesn't really align at 2 minutes. Are you using the general purpose even minutes burst early and then using wildfire at the 2 minute mark or are you saving your cooldowns so you do the entire even minutes burst at the 2 minute mark?
If you do the opener and simply keep things on cooldown you should arrive exactly as described in the even minute burst example. If you require additional help then check out mch_questions in the balance discord.
