I've started as samurai for this tier cuz my static already has a phys range. It's been a new learning experience for me, but thanks to guides like this and in the Balance discord I'm slowly getting better.

I'm glad they changed the recast time for Tendo. Not sure if that was an oversight or an intentional move to show off the fancier animation - don't get me wrong it *is* fancy, but it always threw off my burst timing lol
The dash for the extra 10 kenki spend in burst windows I've never seen before. I typically end up in the 65-80% range on rankings. Some of it is minor drift issues, some of it is positional misses, but missing the dash is that extra final step.
The performance speaks for itself brotha: www.fflogs.com/character/id/3385537 Although, just fyi, digging through the balance and investigating the FFLogs of the top Samurai as this patch has evolved, and speaking with some of them, it seems what I described in this video is not optimal peak Samurai. It can get you to top 1% performance, (I even got a rank1 log, temporarily), but it appears Adhoc Samurai is back and I will be making videos and optimization guides on that too I think, as long as my testing show's it's as good as it looks on paper right now. My suggestion: Try to be more open minded. Maybe you've seen bad info on Icyveins before, but that doesn't mean all info on Icyveins is bad. A lot of the time it directly coincides with what you find in guides on Balance or elsewhere, which I crossreference. I linked the Icyveins guide because it was correct, and was more user friendly than digging through an assortment of pins in a Discord.
@@FahrosXIV Icy veins is such a trip. Terrible D3 D4 guides, some good, a lot terrible WoW guides. I have no idea about ff14 cuz i only really used the balance. Can you share a quick word on ad-hoc coming back? currently I can't see it except utilizing the natural overcap of meikyo, but that feels like it will lose too much damage in buffs
The Icy Veins pages on FFXIV are often written by The Balance mentors, who are people that really know a lot about the game. It's completely fine for learning Samurai.
