Have you ever heard of or used refrigerant gas instead of nitrogen to break the vacuum for the triple evacuation? My boss have reprimanded me for using nitrogen. Explanation is that refrigerant gas is dryer. Feedback please? I’m begging you and I would love some science behind it if there is any.

Tell your boss to quit being a cheap fuck and buy nitrogen. You need it to pressure test too

This was common practice in the old days but with EPA rules and the price of refrigerant these days It just don't make sense.

Always use a micron gauge and avoid using a manifold when pulling a vacuum.

Why not do it 20 times? If 3 is good 20 is better. Do you do that on a car AC. No

This should be the first thing that hvac schools should teach

When you have no micron gauge, try doing a THOROUGH pressures test, know you have standing pressure, take as long as you need to vacuum and then let charge go, if you never hear from them, your good 😂

I can't get Mexican HVAC techs to run a vacuum or weight refrigerant in my mini-splits. Buying my own equipment :(
