You've really developed your seat compared to older videos. Well done on pulling Affie & yourself through a rough patch. You both look wonderful! Simon has so much patience & diplomacy. "Bend the elbows, eyes up, use the leg" (instead of lunge) was the litany for your lesson. Affie goes beautifully as soon as you remember the litany. Talking to yourself aloud (coaching yourself) like you did at one point ("..eyes up..") really helps. Best wishes for the future!
Wow Hannah, 90! You must so pleased. I loved how you were both enjoying it. Simon is my favourite instructor (together with Lucinda) for many reasons. He’s confidence giving, encourages relaxation & he’s chill. He’s totally professional & has a lovely attitude.
Great job! Your riding improved more and more as the lesson progressed, and I think that’s largely due to your confidence growing as you and your lovely pony accomplished more and more. Simon is a fantastic instructor, and if I lived in England, I would absolutely train with him full time. He is so patient and instills so much confidence into the rider. I’ve now seen him give all of you SJ lessons (what I ride here in the U.S.), the other girls having had multiple lessons with him in the past. I am very impressed with the way he tailors his exercises to the individual horse/rider pair, his calm and patient (and easy to understand) instruction, and just his general demeanor. I’ve had instructors who were very harsh and mean, and I don’t do well with that type of instruction. It just makes me more anxious, whereas just hearing Simon teach relaxes me. If he ever travels “across the pond” to do clinics, I know of many riders who would be interested in paying top dollar for an eventing clinic or even just a SJ clinic with him. So please pass that on to him. 😊 Back to you; quite impressed with your progress! How good does it feel when you overcome your fears and insecurities, and end up succeeding in accomplishing something outside your comfort zone, such as jumping larger jumps? I’ve got my own fears and insecurities, so I can relate to you. I also know the absolute joy and sense of accomplishment when my trainer pushes me out of my comfort zone and I push through my nerves and absolutely smash it! SUCH a confidence builder! I can’t wait to see your Broadway eventing vlog. I hope you can take away the advice Simon gave you in your cross country and show jumping lessons, and apply it to your event. Good luck! With ❤ from the U.S. 🇺🇸
Wonderful pair! I’ve always thought that Affie has a lovely jump, lots of scope and shes smart, wants to keep the jumps up. Youre looking great together!
Han, thank you for sharing your experience. As a fellow equestrian that gets nervous jumping bigger, this has been so helpful. You are a stunning rider.
Well done Hannah, you both did well. That last jump was really big and I think you need to have far more confidence in yourself than you do because Affie and yourself jumped it with ease. I can remember Meg having an SJ lesson and being told to look ahead to the next jump as soon as she's landed and I think that's what Simon was saying to you. I noticed Meg started to do that and things improved. Simon is a brilliant teacher and I'm sure this will make a huge difference to you in competition 🙂
That was brilliant han u have such a epic little pony, she was flying. Simon is a fantastic teacher,he's exactly what u need. ❤ epic!! End of the vlog was hilarious 😂
Affie has to have mega jumping genes somewhere. You can see her brain click on, she genuinely enjoys it and has such a good attitude. Also a very scopey girl, so sweet!
Another great Simon lesson. Affie sure has the scope and I hope you can take the positivity away with you, and bring it out at your next event. A pleasure to watch.
You were a rockstar during this lesson! I was getting butterflies every time Simon raised the poles but you and Affie just flew! Cant wait to watch more ❤️
I have been watching Meg for so long and always loved seeing you pop up on the vlogs, I am really happy watching your own journey now ! you and Affie are so honest and doing a great job :) soooooo cute
You have come so far 😊 I remember Affie being unrideable. She is a great poney when she is pain free. Well done you for looking after her so well. It is lovely to see you two having so much fun 🎉❤❤❤
Well done to you and Affie, putting all your previous troubles and woes with Affies health and performance. Simon knows how to push but in a careful and thoughtful way. You aced it going up the centre jumps!! Well done ❤
I love watching your partnership and there is no better way to describe it other than being true partners. It almost feels like because you have stuck with her regardless through her trying times, she’s grown up and decided to give you her everything. I just love how she was previously a hot and difficult pony at times, to holding your hand and giving you confidence. Defied all expectations, you two 💗🎉🎉
Well done Han and Affie. You have both come so far and you totally deserve this. I got a bit emosh watching this. Simon is such a fantastic confidence giving instructor, so calm and positive. You could see your confidence grow wit every jump. Onward and upwards, as the saying goes.
Awe Han !!!! Well done Lady!!!!! Your a wonderful student ❤ Affie is just lovely keep grabbing all the amazing opportunities and lessons you can !!! Brilliant!!!!🤩💪🏼🫵🏼🦄
Sounds like a lovely fragrance, Han. Have loved watching your journey with Affie. I know that this is probably easier said than done, but when you remember to breathe (in through the nose and out through the mouth) and you will find that Affie will respond to you doing this and will enable her to relax too. Great job Affie and Han. 😊
Well done Hannah you and Affie did really well in your lesson. Simon is an amazing teacher be proud you will only get better just enjoy yourself. Look up and breath.tfs🤗🏇🤗
Han did you mean there will be a fragrants for you all . Hah it was so good of you to share you time at Simons . I would love to see you ride on swipe up and kick on. Affie is taking it all in, well done for trying to keep the rithem . How good was she 👍👍👍😄😊💖 best to be on the safe side ,AND do it confidently . Thank you for sharing your journey at Simon's .😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍💟💖
The way you get Affie to settle into her job is so satisfying to watch. Going over the boards on the right rein she looks like a different horse entirely from how she started! I also have a fizzy half-arabian mare, and for me it’s always half the battle to get her focused on the task at hand instead of giving maximum effort in no particular direction. 😂
May I please borrow Simon? He’s the best. Would he be willing to jump the pond? 😅Another thing. My trainer is always telling me eyes up. She says once you’ve committed to your line there’s nothing you can do so always look past your first to the next.
When you play this back really watch your hands and elbows! Hear Simon’s words over & over in your head…”soften your elbows” “bend your elbows”. This prevents you from hitting her in the mouth every time you rise.
You might find that she settles into the contact better with a smaller bit 😊 The one you have in is too big for her mouth and it's also sitting too low.
The amount of times Han says sorry is driving me a bit nuts. Han needs confidence in herself, she is amazing and I suffer seeing her play herself down 😢
Every rider deserves to have an instructor like Simon. What a brilliant person he is.
I was thinking the exact same thing! ❤
I am genuinely tearing up a bit watching this. You and Affie have come SO far and it is a true testament to you.
Glad I’m not the only one 😢🥹
Simon is truly such a horse and human therapist. I love watching him train you two so much 🥹🩷
Between Han, Meg, and Lucy, Simey is definitely getting his steps in during this camp 😂
I love how much you care about your horse and how she feels about things, that says a lot about an owner.
This was just the best vlog ever. You could see your confidence grow in just that one lesson. Simon is just the best
I love when people post their lessons it helps so much. I really learn off these thank you❤

I’m the same way as you; I get nervous as the fences get bigger! But having a confidence inspiring instructor like Simon is SO helpful!!

Han we are so happy for you! After all the trouble you went threw with her so nice to see you both doing so well ❤
Well done to you and Affie, putting all your previous troubles and woes with Affies health and performance. Simon knows how to push but in a careful and thoughtful way.

Well done Han!
Great team ❤❤
I love how instructors ask us how it was while we are in the middle of dying 😂😂😂.
I also talk to myself and the horse while riding
Sensational Hanna 🎉
So happy for you and Affie!!!🎉

Han, I think the word you are looking for is sent
Looking fab ❤
Hanny is there anywhere that stocks wild in store so I can smell the smells before purchasing? ❤
May I please borrow Simon? He’s the best. Would he be willing to jump the pond? 😅Another thing. My trainer is always telling me eyes up. She says once you’ve committed to your line there’s nothing you can do so always look past your first to the next.
Aww thisis so cute❤❤
They have a scent for you. Scent might sound better than smell. 😂

First!!
She's such a clever thing and sooo pretty. What's her breeding? She looks Arab-y, which I absolutely love.
The amount of times Han says sorry is driving me a bit nuts. Han needs confidence in herself, she is amazing and I suffer seeing her play herself down 😢
You are more beautiful than Emse.
Brilliant lesson, Affie is looking fantastic you make such a good team. 🇦🇺🦘
You did great!!!
