Imagine everyone patting themselves on the back for easily subduing the new world when suddenly a massive invasion force from the east appears led by a Tech level 30 Haida that had already conquered all of Asia.
Yeah I disliked how they cheated tech while being Europeans, who already have the advantages of numbers, money, unity and general power, it would have been more interesting to see an actual challenge than him just bullying viewers

In another reply one of the people who played said that north america alone had 1 million. Alongside that the base game tech differences arent enough to make europeans capable of combatting larger native forces, they definitely over compensated though and should have had less of a tech boost, maybe mil tech 8 wouldve been fair

no, throughout most of the game the new world is controlled by the natives because they always kick out the colonial nations with their federations. The natives also have the abillity to advance to the point of owning guns without European involvement

Later start dates as I recall have like almost unchanged development from 1444 and very few buildings so all that time you and the AI spent building stuff and devving up provinces literally does not exist so the mega stacks you might normally be familiar with are just unsupportable from that bookmark.

If you don't change anything at all the natives are completely crushing due to weight of numbers, we just put in a hot fix for our mil tech and over adjusted because we had to do it in two seconds. Realistically the mp videos are much more geared towards player interaction with eachother and the game rather than having the game itself be interesting.

It's ok to make mistakes and pepole won't unsub because of One error but the video itself was disappointing since the power inbalance limited player interaction too. There were bigger stacks in this scuffed game alone that just weren't on camera, besides the analysis is on what theoretically could have been fielded, and 43 native players each fielding 10k is 430k troops. Again this game was scuffed and there was not a real chance for the natives but the initial assessment of Euros being crushed in an unedited scenario is correct.

Again IT'S NOT the end of the world but clearly something when wrong in the proces if aztecs was the only One to have the balls to even try to put up a resistance.

It was a fun video idea, but there probably should have been some incentive for the natives to stay in (in terms of buffs or something some you realized they'd lost hope). I do think when they did ask if it was fair, you probably should have admitted the rationale that they create a mega death-stack, mostly because I would have loved to see if they attempt to make it in one last hurrah. Because I do actually agree that the native numbers (assuming they united) would have absolutely beaten the Europeans in the base techs. That being said, I can't say for sure how strong the native federation was, as I wasn't there. That being said, I think the making them sit in the new world while you don't actually play is a hilarious idea.

Euros in this scenario are actually pretty heavily disadvantaged just because there are 9 times the amount of native players. Sure we went overboard with how much we buffed them but ultimately the decision was made for content, the fact that it didn't work out is just how it goes sometimes.

You could put one guy who you know will stick it out for the whole game in charge of each faction, so if someone drops he can invite someone else to take their place.

if tech is the issue here why not jump to later bookmarks in the game? you'll have okay-ish countries ready to colonize, so you wouldnt need to cheat.
Later bookmarks are unstable and hard to work in singleplayer, let alone a 50 player mp. Might as well make custom nations at that point.
