Correction to the comment about how you change the license plate angle: You cannot rotate the bracket, they give you one bracket that is angled downward and one that is angled upward.

I LOVE the sound of a desmo v2. I have a 98' 944 ducati vtwin and baby it still kills. If I ever get a v4 I would have to also have a v2 to be happy.

I did a test ride of the 2022 V2 yesterday, and a few months ago, I did a test ride on a 959 from 2016.
The difference was big in my opinion. Much smoother, and better throttle. Some people say it’s similar but I have to disagree ( in term of feeling at least ). The V2 in person is absolute grace. It was a warm day ( 26 degrees Celsius ), rode it for 40mn and got stuck in traffic, rode on the freeway so about the heat I got a way better idea than before. You notice it after about 15 mn of riding. It was alright to my taste and I wasn’t wearing leather. But yes, hotter than all the bikes I tested. The hottest bike I tried before was the Tuono V4, the panigale produces more heat. I don’t know how I would feel if riding on a hot day like +30 degrees Celsius. I’m based in Vancouver BC so this weather is kinda uncommon.
I found the seat ok but could be better. The riding position? Well it’s a sport bike, doesn’t bother me at all, I felt comfortable. You can put your chest on the tank really naturally and when in the street, if squeezing the tank enough with your legs, your back and wrists will be fine. And I would like to mention that the tank shape is amazing to squeeze your legs against, I didn’t feel my legs were moving around. The stock sound was good, I wish it’s an inline 4 but… 😅. A V4 is too expensive to me. I’m part of the club thinking “ ride whatever bike that makes you happy “ but a panigale V4 might be happier on a track ( a panigale V2 as well but less power so a bit more suitable for the street). Some people though prefer the V4 for the street somehow, torque wise etc… well
after all why not? A panigale is not a rational choice at all, plenty of better bikes for the street / canyons. A panigale is a choice you make with your heart. When you feel the vibe. Some people would say “ Go Tuono without a question “ and I can’t argue them at all. I just didn’t feel the magic on the Tuono despite the amazing engine and higher handlebars more suitable for touring / street. Anyway, enjoy guys !

  • @91scalloped

You need to add a k&n air filter. Such a cheap and easy mod to add easy power but very noticeable torque. If you can afford an exhaust upgrade and just change one tooth, gonna have even more fun.
I’m obsessed with the v2’s. I love my 2018 v4s and diavel 1260s but I want the v2. I went with a triumph speed triple 1200rs because I couldn’t get the street fighter at the time during the car and bike shortages. I’m currently selling or looking to straight up trade my 1200rs for the v2.

As far as downforce, they are 100% functional.
As for visibility behind you, 7 out of 10. You can see back there but since they’re a lot slimmer than the OEM mirrors, you’re naturally going to see a bit less. I merge lanes a bunch and haven’t run into any issues detecting vehicles. Thanks for watching!

The fact you're from Australia, home of Troy Bayliss, my favorite Ducati champion of all time makes it so fitting that you're piloting a Ducati. It's not as though there aren't other nice bikes but Ducati's are just something so special. And to your point about people noticing, you are so right. I had moved my MH900e to my new house & it was sitting on the track stand, two women in their 80's waking by stoped just looking saying how beautiful the bike was, that was only the first of non stop comments I received. I guess I've become a bit jaded over the years, wondering what a non bike person notices on a Ducati that they don't on the others, you just gotta see it in the flesh I guess. All the best @@Zekriax

Fundamentally still a 959. While not a single swing arm bike, the 959's rear shock and suspension reside in exactly the same place as the V2, so I don't think the V2 being a single has anything to do with that. Ultimately it's a shame that by now the V2 doesn't have the same look as the V4, much like the 959 looked identical to the then flagship Panigale 1299/Superleggeras. At least get rid of that horrible pillion seat as sold. Same goes for the Streeet Fighter V2.
