Louise, my name is Ozwald Gardner. Listening to you has brought back wonderful memories of my Great Grandparents. Both immigrated to the states from Great Britain. It's been decades since I last thought about them. Thank you for helping to bring them back into my heart.
Louise, these books are beautiful! Excellent idea coloring the edges of the paper with gold. Just beautiful! Love your long videos and the "mistakes" because we all learn from you. Thank you for sharing you amazing creativity. 💙💚💜
I’m Scottish, joined the army at 18 and been all round the world, I’m now 65 and live in England, no Bob is not a local thing, everywhere I went and folk I knew said this. Their is another part to it, you can say ‘Bobs your Uncle and Fanny’s your Aunt’ back in the day everyone seemed to have an uncle Bob somewhere lol I’ve got these moulds and not used them yet, probably had them two years, so guess I’ll get onto it then lol love love love those papers you used. So from freezing cold Suffolk hugs x Ann x
Thanks for showing the good and the bad, Louise. It will 100% help to know when adding paper or pictures into resin. Yes, in the US, Bob's our uncle as well! lol Local sayings (okay, at least this is what my mom told me)... I've always called pot holes in the roads 'chuck holes' bc that's what my parents called them. Someone asked me once why, so I asked her. She said that back in the 50-60s, the roads were so bad that everyone blamed the Mayor of our city (Charles something) and so, a local phrase was born. I'd love to know if she's full of it and if anyone else ever called them this. Hahaha
"Bob's your Uncle" is quite a common saying here in Canada. I love the end result of these books! They are beautiful, just beautiful. It's ridiculous just how expensive paper is here as well! Thank you for another great tutorial, Louise. I can hardly wait to see what mischief you get up to next!
I’ve never used the phrase, but I’ve definitely heard people say “Bob’s your uncle”! I’m in 🇺🇸 NY State (upstate, not near the big city!) Because I watch many channels from GB, I’ve started using the phrase “Done and dusted”…and a few others. These turned out beautifully.
Nottingham says it, I thought my husband was crazy the first time he said it, but then again, we live in Minnesota 😂 Thank you for this video, I've been dabbling with paper and photos in resin for a while now, and everything learned by all is helpful.
Thank you so much for showing us how to fix things. Means a lot to beginners like me. :) I don't personally use the phrase Bob's your uncle but I've heard others say it here and there in Canada. These are absolutely beautiful, Louise. You always inspire me to want to make things. ❤
I stumbled across one of your videos a few days ago because I've been trying to find the "right" resin art content creator and I finally found you. You are amazing! You create AMAZING, beautiful artwork and I think you are the best on TH-cam. In fact, I was starting to think maybe I didn't like resin art based on what I was finding, and then I saw yours and realized this is what I was looking to for inspiration. I want to try it, and you are such a good teacher and very talented artistically. Love this journal! I'm really excited to watch all the rest of your videos. ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Louise, lovely notebooks. My whole family(my Mum and Dads side), are all from Bethnal Green, London, the Eastend, and they say Bob's your Uncle and Fanny's your Aunt. It's a British and Commonwealth saying♥️
Hi! My mom always said "...and Bob's your uncle." So it's quite natural for me, hearing it. I don't often get a chance to say it myself, though. Reasons. These are very cool, and while I don't planmany notebooks, I am interested in adding paper to jewelry and thought this might give me some tips for that.
I love all three of your notebooks. They are original and I wish I could own all of them that’s how much I love them and of course your work as well. Thank you so much for the explanations when you assembled them. I also need to mention how much I love to hear your accent. 🫶☺️.
Hi Louise! What beautiful paper! ❤ such amazing results! Thank you.☺️💐 Really appreciate the different techniques. 🫶🏻🇬🇧 Bobs your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt! 😂
Beautiful books. I say Bob’s your uncle also. My mother used to say it all the time. I thought it was just a Newfie saying. lol. Thank you for sharing ❤
Just lovely notebooks, Louise! The papers you chose are so pretty. I agree, glass glitter is "it" as far as I'm concerned. I dislike most regular glitters. The gold edging gives a great finishing touch! Bob's your uncle...used to hear that hear in the States, but not so much, anymore.
Beautiful, Louise! I agree about the gold edges on the paper, def makes a difference. ( I actually have an uncle Bob but never heard the expression) thanks for all your hard work and sharing.
I'm very tempted by the Istoya mixer. I have a resin mixer, but I rarely use it. I have found that having to hold it in one spot for several minutes is actually more tiring than mixing the resn by hand. I've been experimenting with using paper in resin, but I have been very unhappy with the results using mod-podge or clear varnish. Not sure why I didn't try spraying it with varnish. As you stated, laminating the paper only works if you can leave a border of the plastic to keep the paper sealed inside. I've also had the problem with bubbles (I have found this is more problematic with thin molds). Thank you for doing this experiment and showing ways to reduce that problem. These came out great ❤. I've heard "Bob's your uncle" even in Arizona 😂.
They’re all really beautiful. I love the look of paper in resin. Thanks for showing the difference in the way you pour while adding the paper, I was wondering if it would have bubbles. Adding the gold on both the writing paper and the cover is lovely, it’s a great finishing touch. I made notebook covers recently and I wish I had thought of that. I did add a leather snap closure that I was really happy with. “Bob’s your Uncle”😆 I’m familiar with the phrase and it always makes me smile but, I’d say it’s somewhat rare to hear it in person.. it has been more popular since social media. We’re in Utah, western US.
I have the Istoyo mixer, it's a workhorse and well made. Mine is battery operated, and I'm considering buying the rechargeable one. Having two on hand will help me greatly when I move to eco resin or polyurethane resin.
Your note books came out beautifully. Thank you for sharing all the ups and downs of making these. I learned a lot. Here in North Carolina I’ve never heard “ Bob’s your uncle “. Of course we have our own southern sayings like “ Bless your ( her/ his ) heart “ which most often doesn’t mean like it sounds-haha.
I love these! I love that your doing this paper journey! I have some amazing scrapbook paper that i want to incorporate into resin as i dont do scrapbooking anymore, and these videos are giving me heaps of tips and tricks! Thank you so much! ❤
Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt. A phrase used to emphasize how easily or quickly something can be done. Similar in meaning to "there you have it.
ive used laminated photos in rein louise and it was fine , i would seal the edges with superglue next time though , really enjoy your vids louise and i love the note books you have made xxx
Aww Louise these are absolutely wonderful I make lots of memorial pet pics and alway varnish twice to prevent bleed people often ask me to preserve pet hair with them ( not everyone’s cut of tea ) but anyway thank you for this wonderful video ❤
Love these, I have quite a few notebooks done and just made the refills myself by cutting copy paper down to size, rounding the corners with a corner punch then using a 6 hole punch for the holes that I got from Amazon as the refills were far too expensive. Much better with a ream of decent copy paper that will do quite a lot of notepads. I'm in Glasgow and Bobs your Uncle is a saying here too 😊
Thank you for that Evelyn I like the sound of the six hole punch, I’ve made my own too, it’s just very time consuming and tricky to get them all exactly the same - especially the corners.
@@LouiseSingletonCreations it wasn't too bad actually as the punch has lines on it to punch in the middle. The punch can do the 6 in a row or the 3 on each side with the space in the middle. I just cut the corners with a corner punch afterwards
Fantastic. Have you used water slide paper? I’d love to see how you use that, especially with an inkjet printer (since my guess is what a lot of us have) x
Hoy ha sido un poco rápido para mí,no he entendido como has hecho el primer molde de las portadas. Por lo demás encantada y sobretodo de tu actitud ante los problemas.es un placer ver los resultados.🇪🇦🥰👌❤️
I have made these covers before and sold them. The complaint I received was that they tended to warp some what, especially if they were not kept flat on a surface. A warm room also affected the resin. I noticed yours also had a little warping. Is there a way to make them completely flat?
There is a heat resistant resin that some advise for coasters and hot pads. I wonder if that would be preferred for hotter climates (New Mexico US) where I live.
The woman is Gustav Klimt's, The Dancer, but she is bare breasted in the original. They have covered her up by copying flowers from the same painting. I downloaded the picture, but the resolution isn't good enough to print out the size you are using. They want me to pay $ for a useable copy, damn them!!! I have the Istoyo mixer. I live in a cold climate and it makes way too many bubbles. I wouldn't dream of the Let's Resin mixer as it looks like a nightmare to clean. Someone else cleaned it while wet and it took her 15 minutes.

What a wonderful thing to read ❤️ where abouts in Britain were they from?
I love these. I'm originally from Yorkshire and 'Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt' was definitely a saying.
I'm originally from Yorkshire too and we've always said it. Funnily my partner has an uncle Bob and I had an aunt Fanny (Stephanie) 😅
Louise, these books are beautiful! Excellent idea coloring the edges of the paper with gold. Just beautiful! Love your long videos and the "mistakes" because we all learn from you. Thank you for sharing you amazing creativity. 💙💚💜
What a beautiful idea, and beautiful books. They would make wonderful gifts. Thank you Louise.
In Wales we say 'Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt!' Great tutorial, thank you for sharing.
