I sometimes wonder why my fellow Bajans are so touchy about having their photos taken. Heck, you weren't even taking a picture of the guy, but just his merchandise! I also notice people hiding their faces from TV cameras at public events. It seems almost childish, to be honest. Funny thing is, with devices due to come on stream soon, people aren't even going to be aware videos are being taken. In fact, there's currently a type of Ray-Ban glasses already on the market which does that. While it has a red light that comes on while recording, that can easily be circumvented with a bit of ingenuity.

I used to stay in a residential area in small self catering apartment/bungalow in the owners grounds in St. James & my last visit stayed at The Sugar Cane Club in St. Peter when it was still fairly basic & quiet before it developed as it is now. Could see giant toads at night, green monkeys, & watching leaf cutter ants at work during the day.
I loved driving the old ‘Mini Mokes’ around the island, remember one time when I’d driven to Harrison’s Cave, parked, the engine wouldn’t turn off🤣 drove back to the ‘Moke ’ hire place got another & went back for a tour through the cave. Other than that incident the ‘Mokes’ where brilliant rugged little vehicles.
Loved walking in the evening & buying a fizzy soft drink from the tiny road side shacks, which were everywhere. Also watching and chatting (with their permission) in the evening to locals playing dominos on their porches, loved how they slammed the domino pieces down with a load bang whilst playing, hope they still do that. The lovely Bajun people were always up for a chat & a laugh.🙂
Loved the Atlantic coast for a paddle & the extra peace & quiet & the wildlife, sometimes could spend all day on a beach & not see another person.
Loved driving & walking through the sugar cane fields & chewing on a broken piece of ripe cane just like the (best dressed) school children did. Also eating mangoes straight from the tree & cooking breadfruit & plantains.
I do miss my time there, so much more I could mention about my visits to your beautiful island back then before it got too busy & before mobile phones & social media.
      🥰

Very good video. And accurate too. I would have added "trespassing" on "private property". These sir COW's deep pocket customers take things too seriously when people come looking "too close".
On the last point, we have to tell it like it is. We Bajans are pro-nature (pro-natural-order) people by our African cultural heritage which does not approve of any sexual relations that cannot lead to procreation. And, we are Christians due to our early European bible indoctrination by which homosexual practices have also been condemned. A combination of both African roots and Early European values in us is why we can never really make sense of modern LGBT lifestyles.
Anyone who's offended by this simple common sense reality should try visiting some Islamic countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. At least we here only disapprove of it and the agenda behind it... but we have nothing against LGBT people in general. We even have a small bajan LGBT group here too. Just respect our own values and keep your sexual acts private, and we will respect you back even more. Enjoy your trip in Barbados
