- Replacing and regreasing the swing arm bearings should be a part of regular maintenance on your motorcycle to ensure all components stay working smoothly. Unfortunately, this area of the bike is often looked over and if left too long, can cause premature wear or failure on vital suspension components. In this video I will walk you through the proper steps on how to replace swing arm bearings on a Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke these procedures will be very similar for other motorcycles as well.

This is my first time actually replacing swingarm bearings, in the past I have only repacked them with fresh grease, so like I always say, if I can do it so can you!!! The only real special tool required was my workbench vice!
I've had that exact same Craftsman vice for 30+ years! She's never let me down yet!
Great instructional video on bearing replacement!!
Thanks Bob. 😊
The bearings can be stubborn most times, just have to make do with what you have 😁👍🏼
Exactly! Thanks G.
Holy Smokes. Now that's a rebuild.
Yeah it's gonna be pretty close to a new bike when I'm done
@@MonkeyButtRides So good man. It's such a rad bike. If I wasn't a musician, I'd have ridden more and done this stuff too.
There's only so much time in a day.
I get you 💯 on time. There are other motorcycle things I would like to do but not enough money, space or time. You are such a good musician you can't not pursue that!!
@@MonkeyButtRides Thank you my bro.
Great vids mate, what I used to do to do my swing arm/linkage bearings back when I had crosssers was a threaded bar with metal plates nuts and washers plus sockets, used to work a treat with removing and installing new bearings,
It sounds like you built a home made bearing puller/installer! Pretty cool!
Learning so much from the 🐒🙈🙊🐵so I brought all these thumbs ups 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🦾
You rock!

Is there a lip inside of the swingarm where the bearing goes? Meaning do you have to press it out a certain side? Or can you press it out either side?
No lip on the swing arm you can press it through in either direction. Since there is no lip there are measurements for the new bearings you don't want to press them in too far. One part of the linkage does have a lip which makes it super difficult to get the bearings out. It's in the video.
I hate doing bearings, mainly getting the old ones out
Yeah it sucks 😕
What bearings do you use?
I used "All Balls" linkage and swingarm bearing kits.
