Thank you so so much, for this really great and helpful tutorial, on painting leopard print on miniatures! I am a jewelry artist, and I actually do use the cradle technique as well. It steadies my entire application of paint designs. Ima lefty too! 😎❤️👍
Great tutorial. I haven't seen someone suggest cradling like that before in a tutorial. I picked it up years ago when painting at sea but most people haven't had that experience. It demystify s the freehand process and demonstrates technique rather than, "magic steady hands". Thanks for sharing that. Nice work on the spots. I;m not sure you showed me a new technique but you certainly showed me a more attractive paint scheme. I was murdering my models with an awful riot of colours and this looks much nicer!
it's my cameras fault :D - I had 2x lamps, a room light and a portable light about 9" away from the models! - But if I turn the gain up the quality goes down. Grr!
Screamer pink - Emp Children - Wash Druchi Violet - Emp Chilren again then Fulgrim pink Love fulgrim pink for the bubblegum pink color. At least that's what I remember. Looked up lots of pink horror vids.
I'll see about doing a quick video on it in a week or two. Usually Layer / Wash / Original Layer and then a tiny highlight will do a quick and easy job of hair.
My approach to hair is different; generally I’ll base, and highlight in a couple of successive layers usually with tallarn sand up to bleached bone. Colour is then altered using either fuegan orange for red heads or another wash.
There's a total of 4 lights on the models within those shots. It was an option of tuning up gain and making it look terrible or having it deep and moody. Moody won but i'll see what else can be done!
Any requests on hair videos or other clothing parts - just ask - More than happy to share or create some follow up vids.

Many thanks :)
Nice job man, I'm gonna follow your tutorial. Howcome you don't use wet palette to avoid fast drying paint?
I do tend to use a little, seems I might of forgot to mention!
What colours did you use for the hair? I can't find anything in pink hair.
