  • In this video I unbox, review and setup the Ring alarm contact sensor for garage door. I show you how to install the Ring alarm contact sensor and rename the device in the ring app.
    This is the 1st Gen from Ring and they now have their newer models out, but they still do the same job.
    About this item -
    The Alarm Contact Sensor connects to your Alarm Base Station and easily mounts to any door or window frame in your home. Choose to get audio or mobile notifications whenever your doors or windows open, so you'll always be the first to know when something's ajar.
    Requires the Ring Alarm Base Station
    Triggers your Alarm if someone tampers with Contact Sensors and system is armed in Away or Home Mode.

    I cannot find it in the app

      If you go into Devices > then the plus in the bottom right > then Security > Sensors. Or at the top of that screen you can select to scan a code.

      @@thereviewdaduk yea it's not showing up on any of those. Went to security and only to security routers showed up. Went to the plus symbol and nothing showed up under sensors.

      Android or Apple?
      Do you have the alarm base station installed?

      @@thereviewdaduk as far as I know I have the latest. I only have an app for ring. And two Ring camera door bells.

      @Billy Johnson the sensors do require the base station. The same for the motion sensors.

    Can it be used without the base station?

      No, as the signal will need somewhere to go and alert the system.

      No. It works fine with the base station. It beeps when the contact is lost.

      @@johnsanimations2725as of a few months ago- for new users ring does require a subscription to use the app after the 30 day free trial..
