Pelicans are a genus of large water birds that make up the family Pelecanidae. They are characterized by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey and draining water from the scooped-up contents before swallowing. They have predominantly pale plumage, except for the brown and Peruvian pelicans.
Back at my old house, I had a big back yard with several chickens. They managed to get out of their run and stumbled across a mouse. One of them snagged it and ran away from the rest, causing the others to give chase. They played rugby with the mouse body and tore it to shreds, consuming every bit of it.
Yep! I've got chickens and the shock I felt when I saw one of my chooks strolling around the yard with a mouse hanging out of its beak. They also ate leeches and a bunch of other stuff.
Like humans most humans will eat a variety of animals outside of Europe and US we seem to love processed packaged stuff but before we ate anything lol@doohickey-enjoyer
I know exactly what video you're talking about. A quick google suggests it's the great black-backed gull, which wiki describes as "64-79 cm (25-31 in) long with a 1.5-1.7 m (4 ft 11 in - 5 ft 7 in) wingspan and a body weight of 0.75-2.3 kg (1 lb 10 oz - 5 lb 1 oz)", which is quite large.
There are no sins in nature, that’s a human concept, all while animals care about us survival and passing their genes on the next generation so they’ll be stronger
Behind where I live is a creek where ducks come to every spring. There's also a huge snapping turtle and a heron that comes back year after year. They both live off the baby ducks and seem to have divided the territory--the turtle stays on the north end while the heron rules over the south end of the creek.
Usually they will kill or incapacitate before they swallow to prevent that exact thing from happening. Something with claws and teeth can 100% tear it's way out if it has the ability to.

I once saw a squirrel carrying another dead squirrel into a tree. It was 2017, and it was obvious that it was a deal adult squirrel. It was obviously going to eat it. Also, I once saw a video about different vegetation animals that will eat meat when extremely desperate for food. (When u think about it, seagulls eat a lot of sea animals..so another meat source isn't that crazy).
Oh, yeah, Seaguls are naturally predatory birds, a lot of birds are. Even birds that tend to have more vegetarian diets will often predate on insects given the opportunity. Birds are part of nature, and being in nature means that someone is your lunch, and someone else thinks you look like lunch. Heck, even deer have been observed predating on smaller animals opportunistically when hungry, same with cows. It's not shocking at all, it's just nature.
@@kentyannayon3741 birds that primarily eat vegetarian diets have to catch insects to feed their babies during nesting. The babies need the extra protein. Even hummingbirds that mostly eat nectar have to catch prey as well
Most birds will eat pretty much anything they can swallow. I like to think of it as they're revenge for pretty much everything eating them when they are babies. Even things like deer will eat hatchling birds. Even herbivores likes nuggets I guess.
Instead of pigs, being the embodiment of gluttony it should be seagulls

Birds are literally dinosaurs
You could say that a lot about a lot of animals just look at chickens😂
Isn't that the truth. They are descendants of dinosaurs. That's why we have turkey, Cassowary, ostrich feet looking like prehistoric legs.

They can eat stuff much larger, too. Keep an eye on your toddlers at the beach.
