The dark would probably get to me the most. If I was in there with someone I can trust 100%, and the lights were on, the silence won't even be a problem. It's only the fear for me
All ironic comments aside. A video about a quiet room can only be so dramatic. However there's genuinely a dramatic feeling of suspense in this video that makes it unironically dramatic; in way that only Ryans editing and filming style can acheive.
The fact that this room literally represents peace and we are so foreign to feelin at peace with ourselves as humans is crazy.💯 You are literally stuck in a room with your mind, and your body, and people still feel uneasy to experience themselves alone. Like he said he was the experience.
So basically without envirometnal noises, you can hear a lot of things that happen in your body that would otherwise be drowned out by the noise. Much like how without light pollution you can see the stars clearly in the night sky.
Dude I can hang out in there for days. Love it. I actually watched this video 3 years ago and then built my entire room that I sleep in with similar materials to this. My room is not -9 decibels. Its around 4-6 decibals. I ended up having to not only get a more expensive higher quality TV that made less sound but I also had to get rid of my ceiling fans and put in specialty lights because my room is so quiet that it makes those things sound incredibly loud and become a great annoyance. I ended up putting in a secondary small AC unit to power my room and I built the AC ducts with conical materials That you would end up using in like a sound room so that it wouldn't make a lot of noise coming into the room and ended up being great. I grew up having severe insomnia and have had to be on a myriad of cocktails to shut down my mind put me to sleep. Now I'm only down to one of them, I used to take three. Not only that but the only one that I'm left on was the less potent of all three. It was definitely a project and a pain in the ass but absolutely worth it. Changed my life.
I've recently discovered "The white room" torture method and just imagining being put inside there with this "quiet" room combined would be the greatest despair ever

I’m deaf in one ear. It’s hard to be in a loud room because when too much noise goes into one ear it hurts. Know literally it hurts. But in a quiet room you feel more at peace. You can finally focus on yourself. But I also can you go insane because when it’s too quit i feel weird. It’s a very complicated thing. aNyWaY, when you are in a loud room, you feel more alive. I don’t know how to explain it.
Socially awkward people/people with social anxiety can never shut up about how introverted they are despite the fact they have no idea what that actually means
When I was a student at Uni, we built a room similar to this one. Of course it wasn’t as professional as the one in the video but it was still super cool. We also started a challenge of who could last the longest. Most of us made it to 60 minutes, I only stayed in there for half an hour because the sound of my own blood rushing was just crazy. Well, but there was this one dude, who went in there and instantly fell asleep, he fucking spent 5 hours in there and said, I quote, „Best damn nap I ever had!“

Sorry to tell you, but NONE of the shots where cool OR dramatic.
Wouldn’t work for me as my roaring tinnitus gets louder in a quiet room, that would be my idea of hell😫😝
There's only one thing that is quieter than that room, and it is the conversation when people run out of topics.
That awkward moment 😔
Imagine him going out of the room and everybody in the world was missing

He got me watching in suspense wondering why 45m is going to be hard, then at the very end he's like "But the record is a myth you could probably stay in there forever"
Not really. If the room was extremely dark and no sound, he would've gone crazy in 16 hours.
45 minutes is hard, try sit now for half of 45 minutes now and I bet you can't do it, unless you meditate, are peaceful, or have some form understanding about compulsively slipping out of presence, by our own auto-pilot thoughts or when you reach your phone to look at instagram or porn
@Abdullah Kamal I believe over time silence will make you go crazy, after a day I would think most would lose it especially in a dark room, maybe after a few days or something. I was only responding to the part where he felt an anti climax to it being 45 minutes and not being difficult.
the hard thing is not that it's quiet, it's that you don't do aything, you'll be super bored

@@exafyxacuti1525 i was gonna say it was a joke, but after rereading it i dont think it was lmao
Don't fight it's a joke :)

That fella is an absolute legend

How can you get bored in this room? You can literally practice your singing skills in their with no distractions and the sound probably sounds good too.
Nope it wouldn’t sound that good unless you’re a good singer. There’s no reverb
