- Today I’m kicking off my reviews of the first wave of 7inch MMPR Ultimates figures from Super 7 with the Green Ranger! Included are a number of accessories from the show, multiple heads and hands, and pieces to recreate the look of the original Bandai flip head figure.

I have this pre-ordered and I literally cannot wait for him. I feel lucky to have caught the pre-order too. All my years of collecting, I've yet to find an affordable Green Ranger for my collection. I'm always late to the release and they're either nowhere to be found, or cost an arm and a leg lol.
I wanna say, too: I've watched probably 5 or 6 different reviews for this figure and yours was, by far, the best. You explained, with images, every reference the figure is capable of. That's really cool. Even that obscure "no dragon shield, but still gold arm bands" moment. You brought that up WITH episode title and what was going on during that moment, in the episode. That, to me, is dedication through attention to detail.
I also just watched that episode a few weeks ago, so it was extra fresh in my mind and felt even more exciting that you brought it up lol.

S7 has a more accurate helmet.
LC has a much more accurate shield. S7 is too small, has inaccurate markings, and diamonds in the back like the newer shield (original rounds off).
Both are the wrong color suit, but LC is a acceptable middle ground to the Sentai & American suits. The vibrant green on S7 matches more to the original toys.

Sorry to correct you josh but Tommy had a blade blaster for a very short time in the episode "Return of an old friend part 2" in the scene where he fought goldar and the puttys before reclaiming the Dragon Dagger.

Not a bad figure, but for that price, I'd at LEAST want it more poseable. They could've kept all those accessories and spent that time making the figures with better articulation.
That’s not what S7 does. They have a particular style that is meant to invoke vintage toy nostalgia over articulation. Ultimates is basically upresing vintage toys with some update articulation and deco.

I actually really like these figures more than I expected to. I had the vintage toys but im not really a vintage toy collector, so it’s very cool to get vintage inspired updated figures.

Awesome figures from super 7 ultimates.
Super7 looks better proportioned and painted, but Hasbro is far better articulated and has better texture to the suit.
I'm OK with my LC figures and probably won't get the Super7 stuff unless it goes on sale. I will get monsters and zords from Super7, though. The Goldar and Trex look great and match in height for a show accurate look.

Super 7 has had it for a while now.
Different scale, so different license. These are closer to 1/10th scale (7") than 1/12th (6"). It's similar to how Diamond Select has Marvel Select while Hasbro has Legends
I'd love to have that Super 7 figure but a bit out of my price range plus I don't care for the head sculpts or the 90s accessories. I'm hoping the Lightning Collection remastered Green Ranger fixes the helmet issue.
Also, Hasbro's suit color is much more show accurate (though still pretty off). The screen suit green is much closer to a turquoise/teal than it is the forest/hunter dark green that Super7 used.
Can the accessories (namely the swords, gun, morpher, and dagger) be used by the lightning collection figures? I know they aren't technically in scale but can it be kinda fudged?? I really like the accessories with these S7 figures but I like the LC figures more.
Also, Have to disagree about the shield on S7 being better. It's not accurate at all, lol. LC is more accurate in terms the shape. Just needs a better gold.
I'd prefer the vac metal shield to the default shield on the S7 fig. It's not good to me.
S7 has a closer to accurate helmet sculpt tho.
These would be nice but the scale is strange and they are way to skinny. It's like a mix between the figure arts figure and a giant nut cracker figure. I almost feel like these would look good if they were fabric like the other MMPR figures we got recently.
I'm a big fan of the Super7 Ultimates, I got all of the waves on preorder and am really happy with wave 1. Green Ranger is my favorite, but Goldar and Tyrannosaurus Zord are really well done too.
The figure looked promising in the pre-orders but in person it needs a touch up with the head sculps
Other online sellers have Super 7 too. So there are more options then just going directly to Super 7. I got mine at Big Bad Toys and they still have them available to this day.
21:50 I’m a little surprised that Hasbro hasn’t made this version of Mighty Morphin Green, without the shield and arm bands, as a lightning figure. Maybe they probably will one day, I don’t know.
Such a shame the helmet sculpt is complete ass. Same with the shield. Yellow's helmet is even worse.

Compared to the lighting collection the helmet is way better
How did you get the flute close to his mouth, with mine I can't get anywhere near his mouth, the closest thing I could do is get it maybe about half an inch away from his head andcada use a camera angle perspective trick, so it kind of looks like it's in the right spot. Even if I push it close to his mouth it bends right back to half an inch away. Unless you're also using convenient camera angles also
I’m so on the fence about these guys. Especially with the lightning collection remastered figures comping. And I already have the whole first release lightning team. 😭 they’re killing me.
I’m 100% on board with the ultimates zords though. Really looking forward to those.
I think you could have shown these with the Lightning Collection Monsters as they might look great with these. Other than that great review.

Got mine from BBTS and all the keys on my dragon dagger were broken off right out of the box. I tried to get a replacement part but BBTS just refunded me and I didn’t have to send the figure back
The figure looks good but I'll rather wait for Hasbro Remastered line for $20 less & more articulation.
Super7 makes nice toys. I have many of their MOTU figures.

Seeing that Green Ranger figure makes me wonder: when will they make the rest of the Rangers and their villains?

Since the Rangers are a little bigger they would scale better with the Lightning collection monster figures.

The write-up is wrong. Tommy's not the one and only MMPR green ranger - his clone Tom ended up with the powers
Also the OG morphers had red plate the green plate was the master morpher
I'm surprised that you prefer the Ultimates version over the LC version. I think the LC looks so much better.
tommy was the best ranger
I don't know what it is but I really don't like it. It looks strange to be cause it's way to skinny and the chest articulation line is very distracting. It kinda reminds me of a mix between a bad figure arts and a nut cracker figure. LC is so much better to me. The weapons are very nice though.

Everyone keep saying show, but I'm 90% sure it's supposed to be toy accurate. Which they fail at also. No coin in the chest

For the price of these, you'd expect them to at least look nice but... it doesn't... I was gonna say at least the helmet looks good but there's something off about that as well. The body is awful, the proportions are all off and the aims and legs are just long tubes with page on them. These are like 4 times the price of a lightning collection figure (they definitely are in the UK)? I'd take a dodgy paint job on the occasional figure than whatever this is.
