Fernando was amazing in his prime, but he was not able to get the Ferrari team love him as much as they loved Michael. Michael was the king at Ferrari, Fernando never reached that.
Yeah, he definitely had - no - still has the skill to be a World Champion. But after the original Renault run he's seen A LOT of bad luck. I want to see him on the top step of the podium while he's still in F1... That would make me very happy. Perhaps feeling this glory again would give him some sense of closure.

F14T, nearly all McLarens, expect 2007, where the car was very good, but he was treated like the number 2, which led to him leaving the team and McLaren not winning an easy title in 2007, unreliable shit Alpine in 2022... If he had half of the Schumacher's and Hamilton's luck he would have been at least 5 time champion and I think he could have been the 6 time champ. 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008(because if he would have been treated like the number 1 in 2007 he would have won so he would stay in McLaren, then he would leave after 2009 because this is what he would propably do, judging from when he left Ferrari), 2010 and 2012.

Both Fernando and Kimi without a doubt extracted every milisecond out of their car, but people saying Kimi lost only due to retirements and should have been 2005 champion, don't know the behind the sceens of the 2005 season.
