    When you first extruded the base, your example was automatically capped as a polysurface. When I follow your instructions and use the same commands, it extrudes the curves only.
    My cuves were joined to a single surface just as you had done. Can you explain the difference that caused the surface to extrude as a polysurface versus the curves alone? Thank you.

      At 2:20 when you extrude on your command line make sure solid is set to yes. This will make your ends capped solid rather than just extruding the curves. Hope that helps!

      @@victoria_suen - Thank you, that was exactly the change I needed.
      I've historically used SketchUp for my conceptual massing work and it's easy to miss these small nuances that come along with the extra capabilities in Rhino.
      I hope you will do more videos; your content is well-done and deserves a lot more views. I'm sure you'll receive them as you generate more content in the future.
      Speaking of future videos.. As I'm coming from SketchUp, there are some key issues that I've had, which don't seem to be addressed anywhere else. They might be a good idea for videos that will generate views.
      Essentially forcing the plane when drawing in perspective view (in SketchUp this is done by *clicking an arrow to lock the plane),* and similarly, when in perspective view, the related issues of drawing on a face, etc. While Rhino is far more powerful than SketchUp, it feels a bit less effective at intuiting the drawing location in perspective view.
      Thank you again for the great content and for taking the time to point-out the issue in *ExtrudeCrv.*

    Great video, but I have a question. Let's say after modeling this, you send it to your 3d printer, and it does not fit in what you're building. Your measurements were off just a bit.The width is 75.6mm not 75, and the holes are 5.25mm and 35 mm apart to make up for the larger whole. Do you have a video to explain how to make those changes, and in general how to make adjustments, WITHOUT starting over? For me, this scenario is more realistic. My measurements are never right the first time, filament shrinks, etc. Again I like this style of video, but I do not live in a perfect world where all my measurements are correct 100% of the time, I'm getting better.
    Thanks

    i can't fillet the opposite corner

    • @victoria_suen
      @victoria_suen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      try to type in fillet in the command line again. hit enter and then try clicking on the two lines you're trying to fillet. If the radius is too larger to complete the fillet then try to reduce the size of the fillet and see if that works!
