Yes ,using Monochrome mode in Rhino 8, you may just need to duplicate the style and do few adjustments to get a thicker and darker stroke, I will create a tutorial about display mode setting in the future too, so stay tuned.
They are hidden. I remember I had to type a special command to do a subd sphere once (by following a tutorial that I don't remember now). But you cannot use them in a effective way.

there is no SubD tools in Rhino 6, the first release for the SubD tools was in Rhino 7
