I am newly diagnosed "gimpy," one diagnostic point above qualifying for handicapped plates and a cane. As far as I am concerned you can used the term gimpy. My daughter says I have a hitch in my giddyup.
I Love that!!! "Yarn Voodoo". I have been crocheting for 45 years and I feel that it is very simple. Now 🧶" KNIT" 🧶?? I keep trying to learn 😢.But there is no control from my hands. LOL 😂 Not a simple hook to deal with, but 2 sticks and very disobedient yarn!
If i read the pattern correctly, you would have shifted the increase each round by one loop had you not made the last segment one loop narrower and thus avoided the stacking of the DCs - I think there was a line in the pattern that said to shift the increases by one each round? Anyway, it's looking great so far, look forward to seeing the rest.
Indeed, and it seems to be working out ( other than running out of yarn lol , currently and painfully waiting for it to arrive haha) , I did post some current progress pics in the community posts here on my channel 👍👍
For me, one of the best parts of doing these tutorials like this , and showing the pattern is the fact that others can see what I may be missing, and we help each others progress and to learn , like a sewing circle 😊😊😊, thank you
That is SO pretty! I suspect that the weight of the seams being created by the increases, combined with the weight of the 8 dc shell in each loop at the bottom are meant to give gorgeous drape to the skirt. I'm very excited to see your finished project! Thank you!
Super late comment..just found your channel. The pattern was counting KNOTS but you were counting the spaces between the knots. Maybe that was the difference?
I feel like the long stitches are actually the knee area. To me on the picture the stitches around for knee are larger stitches which makes sense to me because as you sit and walk you would want more room at the knee. Just my thoughts. I love your channel, this is the second video I've watched and I'm loving it! Thank you for the entertainment. I can't wait for part 3.
I am a lace knitter. It I am not sure whether the stitch count of a pattern is going to work out, I will often plot it out on graph paper before I start. It saves me a lot of frogging.

I have a doily pattern with that knot stitch. I tried to make it but it just looks so messy. I don't like that stitch much. But with a slip under it it looks fancy
I have just found ur channel, and I can’t crochet not at all, but watching your videos is so relaxing and your so lovely, I have been binge watching you while on nightshift 😊 you really are so endearing thanks rach Australia
Hello what an amazing thing you are doing. I appreciate the effort you’ve gone to to explain your thoughts and process of finding your way. I can’t wait to see this finished and also to begin in a version of my own. I’m so happy to have found your channel ❤
I know this comment is way behind, but I just joined your channel, so back in the day of this dress using fabric it was cut from fabric on the bias, so it was a natural flare at the bottom as the pattern increased using a wider cut. When done ,the dress draped over the body and flared naturally at the bottom. So maybe in order for the bottom to look right crocheted it has to have the lines
Wow! This has to be the most impressive crochet channel I’ve seen and I have a question. What do you do with all these beautiful creations? Is there a site to purchase them? Bid on them?? You totally rock🙌
I like this!!! I will have to watch part one beings i missed it. But i did just find you to be fair, 🙄😂. So happy to see this, i may even actually try downsizing for my doll. Its a thought anyway. Off to catch part one, 😁🥰❣
This dress reminds me of the fishnetdress that is mentioned in a fabel or something. A clever women who solved the problem of being dressed and yet not dressed. Well if im reading the picture corretly you are not doing the flare corretly. In the ankerpoints you should start an new loop then in the next round it becomes to two loops an vise versa. The loops in between should not increase but keep the same amount. In that way you will create a triankular peace. It is exactly the same way you would do if you sewed it!
you're nlikely right , I will say, at this point it seems to be working out , Im just about to the hem and it has a lovly draped efffect and the lines are totally hidden now , but I do agree i may not be doing it right. after over 200 yards of yarn and over 40 hrs worked , im like " if it works , is it really wrong" hahaha , Im just kidding of course , but that is what I love about the comments , we learn so much from eachother , Thank you :)
Indeed, and they are totally hidden 😁, I’m about to upload the final video with a big reveal!! The dress turned out so beautiful , I’m super proud of this one!! 🤗
Dumb question: is the model wearing high heels? Been working on my 18"doll size n im deciding to not do the long solomon knot n go straight into the flare. Ineffect it will start at the knees for my doll, the trumpet part.

Gorgeous gown, but you would get snagged up on every bracelet, button, door handle and stiletto heal, not sure how you would get to dinner 😄
Onwards to Part 3. 😁💜
Can you imagine crocheting sequins on this?!
I've Knitted for 30yrs..... Crochet looks like 'Yarn VooDoo'.... Very attractive dress!
😂😂 I crochet for years and started to knit recently. Holy Molly, it is WooDoo alright

This gown will be gorgeous, I can't wait to see what it looks like finished. Sitting on tender hooks waiting for the finished gown.

I find its much easier when it doubt, to count..mark..then see if I'm short or long in count. Instead if working and ripping out.

I think the lines are necessary for the folds to happen and give it a little more weight to flare when dancing.
Can't wait to see part 3

Just found your channel. Very nice tutorials. Love it. Is your channel name " just vinage channel" as it is written in the intro, or is it vintage?

I am new to your channel and I absolutely love it and I LOVE this dress! I’m so glad I found you! Can’t wait to see part 3 and 4.
Thank you! And welcome 🤗
Me too. I love 30s and 40a movies. The women in them dressed fabulously.. This dress is going to be awesome!.
What did they were under such dress? A ready made dress like underdress or a tailored peace? On the picture it looks shiny.
Its a satin slip
Hello, can't wait for video #3 . I would like to know how to get the pattern please thank you Vivian
Coming soon! :)
On the pictures the lines aren't shown but the flares does look like gores so, I think like you said they might be hidden inside each fold.
Indeed, and they are totally hidden 😁, I’m about to upload the final video with a big reveal!! The dress turned out so beautiful , I’m super proud of this one!! 🤗

not a dumb question at all, and, honestly I can't tell
I forsee scallops being made.
They used to purposely make "imperfection squares" into quilts because no one is perfect but God. That's your imperfection square 😛
They say that about every handicraft.
