    I think where it said one double crochet over two double crochet, it means to decrease by crocheting the two stitches together.

    • @gabriellaglass6157

      That’s what I was thinking as well after seeing the next few round add less after the first 18 singles

    • @Blair_MUA

      Yes definitely a decrease!

    • @firegodessreiko

      Exactly this. Sounds like an Invisible Decrease to me! And then the stitch count appears to be going down after. It pays to have started with amigurumi, I guess!

    I was liking the bone crochet hook. I remembered my grandmother crocheting rag rugs back in the 40’s and 50’s with a wooden hook that she had whittled out herself. The rugs were beautiful

  • @kayceegreer4418

    Why do I want so badly to crochet a medium high heel on it? I want so much to make it look like a granny boot, instead of a granny sock!

  • @LaurieMcKee-pc7pc

    When I made mine I worked 18 rows of ribbing to start. Of course I had the picture to count 9 ridges! This made the 10 red stitches work out perfectly on each side of instep. Hope this helps others!

  • @karmagal78

    Instead of masking tape, should use painters tape. It lifts easier because it’s made to lift off instead of sticking to.

    • @gangoolie68

      Or scotch magic tape. It looks invisible you can write or use a sharpie on it and it definitely lifts up.

    • @firegodessreiko

      They also make highlighter tape that works quite well. Works even better if you slip your pattern into a plastic sleeve first. Then no masking tape, painters tape OR highlighter tape will lift the ink off of your patterns.

    I wouldve added 2 perhaps 3 white rounds on heel side to fix my mistake first and then start the leg bit. When they said 16 more rows you should've done 16 more. And at reducing rows I think you skipped 1 plain row and you could've perhaps gone up to high when grabbing the sides on top of foot

I would not have known that double crochet actually meant single crochet in us terms so i would have had a mess. I totally get it, I work with vintage tatting patterns cuz thats really all there is. Most modern tatting patterns are based off of the antique ones. If you can figure out Mlle. Riego, you can tat anything.

    41:58 i think what happened is at the beginning you did 16 rows instead of 2+16 since it wasn’t clear whether it was a total of 16 or add 16 to the two you already did. That’s likely why there were stitches missing when doing the 10 sc in cardinal yarn for the heel part.
