Glad to see you liked the mod. :D Btw, there is an old free open source strategy turnbased game called The Battle for Wesnoth which has several campaigns and one of those campaigns you get to play as a mage who then becomes a necromancer and ascends to lichdom.
I have considered but not sure I did except in maybe one of the podcasts. I know a decent amount about it all, but don't consider myself an expert. Closest I came to that is my phylactery video (check it out)
Oh, more Elder Scrolls necromancy - I'd thought these were all done until a new one came out. Does that mean you'll be covering the Undeath mod (as well as its expansion, Classical Lichdom) for Skyrim? I was honestly amazed to see it hasn't been covered yet despite being out for years, especially when it's basically the ONLY comprehensive lichdom mod Skyrim has...aside from Path of Transcendence, but that one's a little on the light side of gameplay - it's like something I'd expect to see in the Creation Club.
Elderscrolls mods, especially for Skyrim, is a never-ending well of content. Honestly, I think if every single one of my videos since the inception of the channel was a Skyrim video, I'd still not have gotten through a quarter of what's out there. I think Jinx might do a shorts episode on Undeath at some point, but you're extremely unlikely to get a big Cheb video like this on it. I'm burnt out on Skyrim - just played it too much, etc. I feel like I'm done with Skyrim for probably another 10 years, if not longer. Possibly forever. Great game, but completely and utterly had my fill on it. What you can expect from me going forward regarding Elderscrolls content is DFU mod coverage, Oblivion mod coverage, and possibly the rare Morrowind mod video, and of course Elderscrolls 6 videos if that game ever actually gets made. Thanks for leaving a comment.
@@chebgonaz Also, besides more ES content, what about Baldur's Gate 3 now that it's released? There's necromancy in that as a subclass for the wizard, and from the few glimpses I've seen, it seems to satisfy several of your criteria - the minions have decent variety, they look to be fairly strong (a lot stronger than they are in NWN2, at least), they seem to need corpses to be summoned and you can have a good number of them out at once. Permanency is the only thing I'm unsure of.
I remember doing a "ghetto" script extender launch back when you needed to use launcher.exe even on steam windows ver. I renamed the launcher to oblivion launcher.exe, which made steam launch it. 😄
@@chebgonaz tbh I did that with other games that required some sort of injector or something. Another alternative is to create an .exe shortcut (found a way to turn .bat into .exe) Also works for things like doom source ports or openMW.
I think Mysterious Bear's is better overall but it is relatively old and also unmaintained now. Existing issues have been left unfixed and people tell me that newer versions even seem to introduce some new problems. I'd try both but in separate playthroughs and also don't forget about Necromancy and Lichdom
Hey man, Im here for the valhaim mods, I just wanna say I love your mods and are absolutely amazing, I was wondering if you had any plans to create minions that are human and not undead for valheim? I love having guards and stuff, just prefer them to be human lol, Either way absolutely amazing mods!!!
Thank you, I actually already made this mod. It's called Cheb's Mercenaries and you can get it on GitHub, Thunderstore, or the Nexus. Here's the thunderstore link: valheim.thunderstore.io/package/ChebGonaz/ChebsMercenaries/ I would recommend you wait an hour or so though because I'm about to update it to version 1.7.0 which has some nice new tweaks.
@@chebgonaz man I love you rn… could you make a guide on it??? I went in there and its sick but I dunno how to use it. Sub for being amazing A guide on your necro mod would be sick too.
It just doesn't have the same feel as Mr Bear's mod, which can turn the game into Dungeon Keeper in Cyrodil if you have also have lich mod that works with it and puts a huge bounty on your head. Playing an evil character does seem to be more satisfying in TES IV, where so many NPC's seem to all but sh*t rainbows of courtesy.
Another great review. Love the use of shock spells for reanimations.
Thank you & yes, it's very thematic and Frankenstein-like.
Hell yeah!! Thanks for covering this mod. I'm definitely giving it a go later on!
I would absolutely love your voice used for the main characters!
Thanks David :D

Thank you. I'm aware of Wesnoth but didn't properly try it yet
Thanks for the linux instructions. Great mod, great video.
You're welcome :) thank you
another banger review man, thanks!
thanks :D
Have you ever thought of reviewing TTRPG games for their necromancy inclusion?
Like D&D or Low Fantasy Gaming, Pathfinder etc.

@@chebgonaz Who's Jinx?
@@LegendaryLycanthrope Jack "Jinx" McKay. He does the YT shorts and also sometimes comes on podcasts
@@chebgonaz Does he have a YT channel? I can't just search 'jinx' and hope I find it - that would bring up millions of results.

The game that has the greatest necromancy playstyle, by far is a game called Gedonia, no other game comes close
I got a video on this one

I agree. It's very hard for any mod to live up to the standard set by Epic Necromancy. 100% agreed.
