Rarely print compared to when I started however it’s nice to have it anytime I need to print or design a part. It goes in waves. Everyone who prints irregularly should get a filament dryer they’re great.
Just happened to glance over at the Ender3 and noticed the roll of filament I had left in it for months now has broken into 6" sections. I'm already dreading the clean-out 😒
I have two printers now. Ender 3 v3 SE and Kobra 3 combo. I love them, they opened up a whole new world of stuff. As much as they cost me they've also saved me tons in shipping and border fees.
Purchased a Bambu P1S when they were first released. It has seen steady use producing boats, parts, household items and specialty car parts. Great tool! Thanks for all of your efforts Josh.
FYI: The Base Camp RTR has always come with separate Rx and ESC (unless they changed the specs part way through the V1 run). The V1 had a 3-channel Rx versus the 5-channel Rx in the V2. The Early Bronco and CJ7 Renegade RTRs come with a 2-in-1 Rx/ESC.
Buddy of mine bought a Bamboo printer, we spent a week getting it all ready. Made one skid plate. It's been sitting for a year now. I won't touch it cuz I don't do computer stuff at all, he won't use it cuz he would rather just buy parts. A lot of machines I'd rather have than a printer. (Tig welder, break, plasma cutter) That vintage run looks fun. I'm going to Australia next year. I'm going to chech the calendar, I might just have to ship a couple RC10's and my Hornet over there before I go. Hmmmm. Have fun all.
When 3d printing was still fairly new I bought a fdm printer and did not like it because of all the rituals you had to do, I let that rot in a corner. I bought an SLA printer and that also was time consuming it was definitely better than FDM but cleaning the printer and the resin off the printed parts made it a hassle. I am going to upgrade my mini cnc to something bigger and start making parts again this holiday season.
I have a 6 year old CR-10 that is highly modified and used it almost every day. However, I am glad that new printers are more plug and play for new people. I have gotten more people into the hobby by recommending Bambu printers then the back in the day with prusa or enders.
I've had a filament 3d printer for about 2 years now and it's been brilliant. The real game changer for me was learning to design my own stuff. I've found it so quick and easy to design and print what I want. I've also just recently bought a resin printer to go along with it. 3d printing is awesome.
I got a Bambu P1S earlier this year. Also got into Fusion to design some custom parts. Only regret is not getting Prusa kit to learn how a printer actually goes together to know more about repairs/maint. later on.
14:30 For a while I was obsessed with 3D printed tire inserts, I have a version that prints perfectly smooth in TPU in about 45-60 minutes on a CoreXY machine with no stringing, still fine tuning it before I publish it though. 3-4 hours for a full set of dual stage 1.9 inserts is game changing. Stringing and speed with TPU were my whole motivation for upgrading from my bed slinger, but it seems like CoreXY and Delta are the way to go for RC parts.
I bought a 3d printer with good intentions of using it, but never have. My neighbor kid ended up borrowing it a couple times for a high school project where he made a drill powered air compressor with it.
My wife gifted me a 3D printer for Christmas two years ago (that is, she gave me the okay to buy one). Still haven’t pulled the trigger though. Space and time are the main constraints. And I enjoy fabricating solutions by hand. Someday though I will get that printer.
I just bought my third 3D printer. The Bambu labs P1S. It is AWESOME. It makes 6 hour prints in less than an hour compared to my creality prints. Which are good printers, but the P1S is a game changer. It's so easy to use and dial in. I am a CNC programmer, so all of this was second nature to me and not difficult to learn because of my skill set. There is a learning curve, but with the technology advancing the way it is. These printers are almost plug and play. So, if you have the space, I recommend the P1S. It's a little more pricey than the average entry-level printer, but it will save you LOTS OF TIME and money in the long run.
I'm printing truck parts constantly lately. Right now I'm working on the Knight Customs interior for my H10, then I'll be back to work refining the lotus inserts to improve something I'm not 100% happy with yet. I really need to upgrade from my 5 year old Ender 3 to something more modern, like a Bambu P1S.
I've had 3d printers close to ten years now and I got my first one as a tool to use i n the rc hobby, I really admire the guys that build with styrene but if I did something like that I wouldn't dare to use the vehicle so I got me a printer so I make the parts again if they break One of my first projects was to make parts for my Vaterra Ascender and those are still being used today, at least the grill, battery mount and the wheels. I like the 3d printing aspect as it allows me to be creative and try new things without having to order things from overseas that might or might not work, still waiting for you to extend the scx24 chassis to fit the Gladiator ;)
Born in 1958. No 3D printer expected for my Xmas present. I do however see people printing many things that could and should be made with basic hand tools from basic materials if time and strength are important . I suspect some young people buying printers don’t have a hacksaw , a vice and file ?
The head dingbat in charge of marketing forgot to tell you about the discount code on the Lotus inserts. Ok, mostly I didn't know how to do that yet, then stumbled across it randomly at 2am last night :P But now it's active, until the 12th, and is good for 25% off. The ever so creative code is... HARLEY Because I'm saving my creativity for a roof slider/rack/light system for the H10, which I should get back to work on now.
3d printers… I have 5 of them (I do not print commercially) I don’t think I could live without the ease of printing parts, prototyping and having special/ unique parts, especially in the time it takes to print. I have had my first 3d printer for about 26 months, and have used them a lot! I do regret not getting a resin printer last year during the Black Friday deals, they haven’t been as cheap since, and I feel like it would make a great addition for smaller parts. In my opinion, 3d printing allows me to have rc models that don’t exist commercially anymore, bigger things that are impossible to import, and all that for (often) cheaper than the other options
Dude bc of you I bought an x1c and life has been light years better since. Will always be thankful for stl sundays bc that layed the ground work for what I know today. Have been getting better every week and selling files on cults and giving them away as well. It's crazy a year ago I knew nothing about designing or printing and now I can make cool shit for my rigs. Always in debt to u dude !! Thanks 🙏
My 3d printing started out strong when I got it. Then the machine started giving me problems and I never could figure it out. Now it collects dust in a corner and I keep saying I'll fix it one day.
I have been thinking about getting a 3d printer for myself this Christmas. Kinda funny that was your question as I really have been thinking about it a lot. My big obstacle is that I get frustrated with computers pretty easily and haven’t used them much because of that. I’m afraid that I might print 3 or 4 piles of hot garbage and give up. Telling myself I need to try it again until the thing is obsolete. Maybe I’ll dive down the TH-cam worm hole on then and try to make a more educated choice.
Definitely been talking about getting a x1 carbon, just haven’t pulled that trigger yet. Now I’m waiting to see what kind of holiday deals they run. I’ve had an ender 3 v2 for years and definitely got my moneys worth out of it but I’ve kinda out grown. There is also a big area around me for several states that there is no knight customs authorized printer available. Makes me want to get one even more now
I started 3D printing 10 years ago. I remember watching you with the Robo3D and thinking this sh is amazing. I print stuff all the time, not always RC related but I have designed and printed a few RC related things. Basically I’m blaming you for getting me into RC and 3D printing.
Ive had my printer for about 2 years now. Last year I think it saw its peak usage, i will still fire it up from time to time when I need to make a part, or somebody asks me to print them something. But more often than not, it's collecting dust these days. That said, i cant imagine not having one... it surely comes in handy
I've had great luck with my Rlaarlo trucks and have got the few parts I've needed from them without issue. I do hate the way they drag out the release and pre sale crap and I'll not order another one until they are actually shipping them.
I've been 3D printing for over 10 years now. Got into because of RC and find I couldn't live without it now. Currently assembling my 3rd @Harleydesignsinc Ecotech motor.
im looking into getting the bambo a1 but i also want to be able to print with the filament that has carbon fiber in it !! It will be my first one and i wanted to see if i would be able to or do i need to go to the next size up? because on web site it says not recomended on the A1? will the a1 still be able to print with it ?? any help thanks!!
I've had a 3d printer for years now. It doesn't get much use. There's a bunch of stuff I could download and print but I really want to design my own stuff. I just need to commit to learning Fusion.
I'm no close to getting a 3D printer than I was a year ago...or 4-5 years ago, when I first started looking into getting one. It's not due to "lack of interest" (I'm DEFINITELY interested in getting one), or due to "lack of possible uses" (I'd definitely have uses for it), or due to "lack of affordability" (I can definitely afford one). Truth is, it's 100% due to "lack of available space. Even something as small as a Prusa Mini+, I don't currently have the room for.
Sooo did me messaging you about the bamboo I just ordered tonight influence the question or just a coincidence lol. I’m exited for it to show up. Going to be busy.
i hated my printer because I couldn't get it to run correctly/consistently. I think an enclosure would have fixed most of my issues, but I didn't know any better at the time and ended up trading it for another crawler 🤣🤦

well I've got 7 3d printers (5 FDM and two resin) and they run all the time.. but then again , I've got my own site where I make 3D printed parts for RC Cars, so... 😁
Satisfy Big Appetites with our shareable Shaq-a-Roni Base Camp Pizza 🍕with Extra Cheese and Extra Pepperoni on an Extra-Large New York style Pizza 🍕cut into 8 burnt oversized, foldable slices.🍕😋😅😂🤣
What you made I would not call "pizza".
Nope! And he burnt the toast!😂😂😂😂
Why's that? Because it was missing the Canadian Bacon? There is other kinds of pizza Matt.....😉
Detroit deep dish or bust
New York style or bust 😉
We call these "Piccolinos". 😁

Great show🎉
I have a ender 3 pro with all the mods that collect dust. Recently got a p1s combo and love it

Absolutely love this show
I bought my first 3D printer years ago. That got me back into doing rc. Super glad I made the choice.
Great Update ...... You crack me up Josh man :)))))))) Thanks for being You

Get out and vote, my dudes! Let's keep America strong!
yes the rc functional trucks are mostly 1/12 to 1/14 or even up to 1/16 scale for some really huge excavators etc
I have a 6 year old CR-10 that is highly modified and used it almost every day. However, I am glad that new printers are more plug and play for new people. I have gotten more people into the hobby by recommending Bambu printers then the back in the day with prusa or enders.

My Tevo Nereus goes through phases of heavy use to collecting dust. It has printed little parts to whole bodies. 400mm bed is great.
I have a Voxelab Aquila from 2020 and it still prints everything I want🤩....there wont be any Bambo for me in the future .
I wish I got into 3d printing a lot sooner, I absolutely enjoy 3d printing so far. The next step for me is to learn how to design something
I got a Bambu P1S earlier this year. Also got into Fusion to design some custom parts. Only regret is not getting Prusa kit to learn how a printer actually goes together to know more about repairs/maint. later on.

Closer, not ready to make the leap.
3D Printing has been a game changer for me in the RC hobby. Now I can't imagine not having one!
I love my X1c. Had it just over a year and clocked 4800hrs on it. Planning on picking up an X1e next.
Tamiya trucks (semi) are 1/14 th. One job josh.
I bought a 3d printer with good intentions of using it, but never have. My neighbor kid ended up borrowing it a couple times for a high school project where he made a drill powered air compressor with it.

The Basecamp part of the video gave me a good laugh
Dang it! Matt's going to yell at me.
I work in a large engineering department and have a Elegoo Saturn 2 and definitely use it
I'm finishing this video and then I'm planning on placing my order for the P1S.
2 build alongs a year will keep our printers busy. Keep them coming.

Looking forward to seeing ding dong on the show

I constantly use my printers, for cosplay, rc parts and just general items. I am happy I bought my mk3s+.
im glad i waited to get a printer. i love this a1 mini
Grabbed that Dlux trans you featured for the scx24. Wondering if you have given it any more thought. Another Great Update
I need to buy one still!
Great vid
I jumped into 3d printing earlier this year. Bambu pls, it's been awesome.
I plan on getting one but I have to make room for it.
I bought an X1C last February. The experience was so bad with Bambu Labs I almost returned it. So glad I didn't! I use the thing every day.
I am quite tempted to get a 3d printer, more so now that they seem to be easier to use. The A1 mini seems like a good place to start.
Definitely been talking about getting a x1 carbon, just haven’t pulled that trigger yet. Now I’m waiting to see what kind of holiday deals they run. I bought my X1-C with the Black Week offer last week. Seems like you can’t buy everything anymore. Only files to print left.
Ive had my printer for about 2 years now. Last year I think it saw its peak usage, i will still fire it up from time to time when I need to make a part, or somebody asks me to print them something. My current Flashforge Finder 2.0 is not working any more. But my next printer will be Bambu Lab A1 as soon as I have enough funds.
I currently own 4 printers. 3 resin printers and one fdm printer.
I actually just bought my first printer, so I can print my own H10 Optic builder's kit.
I plan on buying a Bamboo Labs very shortly.
I use my printer daily. Bambu P1S is a great place to start if you are getting into it.
I've been 3D printing for over 10 years now. Got into because of RC and find I couldn't live without it now. Currently assembling my 3rd @Harleydesignsinc Ecotech motor.
Capo is nuts
'85 to 2000 huh? I reckon that makes me extra vintage 🤘😁🤘
im looking into getting the bambo a1 but i also want to be able to print with the filament that has carbon fiber in it !! It will be my first one and i wanted to see if i would be able to or do i need to go to the next size up? because on web site it says not recomended on the A1? will the a1 still be able to print with it ?? any help thanks!!
My only regret with my 3d printer is that I regret not going straight from my modified Ender 3 to a Bambu P1S w/ AMS.
I did exactly that and I regret nothing.
You didn't make a pizza 😂, heated up a Lunchables 😂😂! Enjoyed watching the build of the oven also watched SBG so called camping vid😂😂😂😂! 👌👌
Always a cool watch
Most military Rc Tanks and trucks are 1/16th scale
My 3d printer doesn't get used as much as I'd like, but that is due to the ideas I have but lack of a good pc to be able to create the ideas in CAD.
I would say I am closer to getting a 3D printer, but I am just not ready to pull the trigger for one yet.
I bought a Felix 3D printer in 08, put it together, but never finished it. 😮
I've had a 3d printer for years now. It doesn't get much use. There's a bunch of stuff I could download and print but I really want to design my own stuff. I just need to commit to learning Fusion.
I don’t understand the fascination with capo it’s cool but all parts seem hard to get and it seems like you can’t actually drive them
I've had the worst experience with them personally. Overall just awful.
I feel like a 3d printer is a must have if you are into rc. I don't even know how I got by without them. Waiting for bambu to release this new one so I can go for a 3rd
Only if you're into the scale niche. As primarily a basher I have no need for one for my collection of a couple dozen trucks. Printed parts have been to fragile on my personal experience. I fully admit to not being well versed in printing. The parts I've bought printed weren't able to take being basher.
Your axial Basecamp section of video did not get an edit. Lol.
Shoot! I see that now. I'm tempted to leave it...
@@HarleyDesignsInc leave it lol
Military is usually 1/16
I have a ender 5 plus and I wanna get a Bambu labs p1s 80mm/s vs 500 mm/s…. It’s a no brainer. I want to sharpen my design skills a lot more though, as I got the printing part and fixing the printer under my belt. I’m tired of buying other people’s models and people saying how cool it looks, it’d look even cooler if I was able to design it myself
Id like a 3d printer, but seems like I can't use a computer anymore, so I'll just stick to bolt on parts for now
You're so Vintage.
Change my mind a truly great rc release this year?
I would love a 3d printer but I feel like I’m so inexperienced and I wouldn’t use it enough to make it worth it. But damn those 3d parts start to add up quick
I've got a printer unopened from 4 years ago lol
I don't have a 3D printer. It probably would take up most of my time like any new toy. I just buy parts as needed.
well I've got 7 3d printers (5 FDM and two resin) and they run all the time.. but then again , I've got my own site where I make 3D printed parts for RC Cars, so... 😁
Would love to get a 3D printer, but absolutely no room for it in my hobby area.
I would like a 3D printer but me and computers don't always or even often get on so I'm very much on the fence
I have buddy that prints stuff for me,
You m Matt's next build off.
Udr based u4/rock racers no factory body or cage.
Omg, watch at .5 speed and Josh looks and sounds drunk! 🤣
👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
1/16 would have been a better scale for a military truck.
Satisfy Big Appetites with our shareable Shaq-a-Roni Base Camp Pizza 🍕with Extra Cheese and Extra Pepperoni on an Extra-Large New York style Pizza 🍕cut into 8 burnt oversized, foldable slices.🍕😋😅😂🤣
I would get a 3d printer but I need a computer first
Should have made it 1/16 to match with most rc tanks
3d printing… I have 2 collecting dust.. they were used a lot during Covid then interest died off
how am i just finding out about this show??
