It bothers me so much that they're allowed to hide part of what's in it behind "natural flavours" or "artificial flavours" or the like. That's against the point of putting the ingredients on the package.
To be entirely fair in most cases like this your paying for the branding rather then the chocolate. They do sell this dirt cheap chocolate at a reasonable price in plain packaging. Chocolate coins come to mind, at least in the U.S their between $0.50-$1.50 and they cost about $0.25 - $1 for the materials, packaging and shipping depending on brand.
Loved Eva in the hat! What a cutie! I'm always disappointed when Christmas candy is hollow and doesn't have some of the details that the wrapping has. But I suppose both those things would increase the cost of the chocolate. Also always disappointed that the giant candy that comes out during holidays is never actually giant! It's just a bunch of little candy in big wrapping!
If I might point you over to Barry Lewis, who used the plastic shells as moulds for actual giant candy. :) Giant Quality Street Strawberry Delight: th-cam.com/video/gddIz35bLY4/w-d-xo.html Giant Maltesers Teaser: th-cam.com/video/K-CcDs4fc64/w-d-xo.html
Hey, it's still Christmas here, until the Solemnity of the Epiphany, which is on Monday (6 Jan) for this year. It's more commonly called here the Feast of the Three Kings. Merry Christmas!
Here's how you could fix that Merry Sithmas thing, while keeping the Empire theme: Keep Vader, chuck in Palpatine, make a Stormtrooper have a little orange thingy on his sholder. Bang, done
Hi Atomic Shrimp. Do not worry you are right! it is still The Christmas season wihich continues until the Feast of the Baptism of Christ, which in the present form of the Roman Rite is celebrated on the Sunday after January 6 , or the following Monday if that Sunday is Epiphany. Happy Christmas to all of you. Btw. Many Orthodox Christians annually celebrate Christmas Day on January 7.
Ahhh, really nice. I can't say I've ever had a hollow chocolate item that was very good. I must say however, fruit flavored chiocolate really dresses up the choco experience: orange, blueberry, and raspberry, my favorite. Holiday sweets can be a dicey prospect, for sure, so I sure tip my hat for that risky venture! :)

I enjoyed this video! Would you maybe be able to do an Easter treats version in a month's time if there are any Easter goodies on sale at marks after Easter? :)
11th Feb 2021,watching this at not far off 4am. I'm hooked on these videos....and that voice. This all came about when I randomly discovered one starring the infamous John Barosa / Warosa.....
Atomic Shrimp: It's a Panettone. We know what to expect. Me(An American): I've never seen that before in my life. It looks kind of like a large fruitcake muffin made of angel food cake. It actually looks good for just a Pound. Those "Billionaire Chocolate Bites" also looked pretty good and the way you described the flavor sounded delicious when eaten in moderation, like one a day. Honestly, from what the video showed, I would buy and probably enjoy the Panettone, the Chocolate Santa, those Billionaire Bites, and maybe the chocolate oranges and sprouts. Good video!
My grandmother uses single use plastic packaging for things such as chocolate molds and bread/dough wraps, actually quite useful! She also uses those plastic sealing bags for gifting food items. Honestly if companies would put in a little blurb along the lines of "this packaging is reusable" so many more people would stop and think of a way to repurpose them rather than toss in the bin
Oh the weather outside was frightful But the fire was so delightful And since there was no place to have gone Let it have snowed Let it have snowed Let it have snowed
Oh yes, Eva DEFINITELY looks so delighted! Looking forward to seeing her model that hat for us in about eleven months! (And I'm going to start looking for those chocolate Brussels sprouts for my mother for next year - she's the only person in our family who likes the things!)
I can't speak for the U.K but i imagine the reason's are similar enough that what applies in the U.S likely applies there. Namely they have the cookies in two bags inside the tin is due to health regulations. In the U.S in many cases if you go to put something into a tin like that. You need to prove its air tight and get it inspected by the i think USDA (not sure if its a different branch for packaged goods but it is an alphabet agency) and prove that critters/contaminants cant get into/be inserted into the tin especially if marketed to kids. That costs a ton of money and is very extensive and time consuming. Its why you will see really fancy cookies and shortbread in tins sometimes without plastic, but almost never cheap items that get sold basically once. Much cheaper to throw them into a standard government approved sealed bag then to pay all the expense of having the tins inspected in most cases. And on a low profit item like this it would be silly to expend the extra cash.
Definitely one of my favourite TH-camrs... You introduced me to scam baiting. I like your content(and delivery)so much I watch your other stuff too! Iconic voice💯
I'm at one of the RDCs in the south and honestly we get caught in the middle between supplier and store returns and it leaves us with little in the way of options to find a home for it all. It's such a waste of food.
I suspect the reason that Christmas treats have redundant packaging is because one is the standard packaging and the other is the special Christmas branded packaging. For example, the single-use plastic is standard, and the decorative tin is added for Christmas time. During the already hectic Christmas rush, the cheapest strategy is to change the production process as little as possible.
It's a vinyl fabric cloth that I bought in The Range - it used to just be the cloth on the dining room table, and it happened to be that I shot most of my videos there. When I set up my little studio in the spare room, I got a new cloth for the dining room, and took this one to the studio, for continuity. I really like patterns like this, but some people hate it. Either way, it serves as a watermark for my content
I know what you mean - when I was growing up, my dad used to take us to a fancy restaurant for Christmas lunch - the sort of place where you have to book a table more than a year in advance - and I was always made to wear smart trousers made of itchy wool
It’s still the 12 days of Christmas! Today is eleven pipers piping! Christmas Day is just day one. I might have to look at the history of when they stopped celebrating it that way, but the carol is still around for some reason...
I kept looking at the advent calenders in Poundland as they got cheaper as we got closer to Christmas. They were down to 25p which was probably OK for the chocolate content 😍👍
I never knew those chocolate coins were available in other countries besides my own (Netherlands); we have them for St. Nick (Dec 5) instead of Christmas though.
Hm ... I could send you some leftover Christmas stuff from Germany, if you like. The supermarket around the corner still has box-towers full of Printen, speculaas, marzipan potatoes, ... They're selling it off 2-for-1.
I'm going to try to get away with this next year, and tell my wife that it's research for my channel. Hahahaha! I wish our goodies were so inexpensive after the holidays... Thanks for sharing!
Im not sure on the Star Wars pencil case because its genuinely limited to Christmas time, would have been a much better product if it were less christmasy and therefor can be used all year round.
Yes its always Christmas in the North Pole. They dont get much candy year round so, mostly they eat fish.. raw. One of those 7 troopers in the pencil bag was TK 421. the zipper on that bag is handy dandy. Id take off the heads and fill them with raspberry schnapps. Hmm, a cylinder of cake. Okay, that was fun, though; yuk. I would love a Percy Pig (is that it?) If it is not very expensive to send a tin, to Texas, I would be happy to pay to have it shipped to me. Think so? (I know going the other way is crazy-expensive, but think it is not too bad coming this way, across the pond. Yes?) Cheers. Out to shoot more music, tonight. Crazy stuff. FREE week in Austin music!
Funny, when you took the Santa hat off piggy I thought it would look good on my poodle, next thing you'v got it on your dog!, by the way I think Santa started out as a gnome .
Those storm troopers look like they could be penguins or mini santas, they love reusing the mould!
And the chocolate looks like it might be a bit older, with the fat starting to separate on the first one.
Oi shrimp. Have you ever considered being a voice actor? I wish i had that full charismatic soothing voice of yours!
nothing says Christmas like biting off Santa's head.
I honestly love the simplicity of this channel it's very calming

It bothers me so much that they're allowed to hide part of what's in it behind "natural flavours" or "artificial flavours" or the like. That's against the point of putting the ingredients on the package.
