This review is spot on, I got the Piaggio One+ myself and it is a very well built scooter. Its tiny size and light weight is great for in the city. But it is just underpowered especially if your battery is already down to 70% or less where it will struggle to even reach 45. In the Netherlands you have to drive on the road where cars can go 50 and you just cant keep up with the flow of traffic. If the battery approaches 40% it just becomes dangerous really. Really wish they atleast put a 2kw motor on it instead of the 1.2kw. I assume that with a bit more powerful engine, you relatively keep more power too as the battery goes empty. It is still a great scooter for city and cruising around in the vicinity though. Its my first electric scooter and it made me consider getting a basic motorcycle license too for the bigger electric ones. That reverse "gear" is a true lifesaver for me as I have to take the scooter out of a cramped storage to drive it. Just wish they didnt include that beep when you go backwards. Its a 70kg scooter not a truck :-).
@@Roadkill220 Hoi, zie nu pas de reactie op mijn jaar oude reactie op deze video haha. So if you are still looking for a scooter, I believe Piaggio now updated this one to actually have a 2kW motor on it. So you get the advantages of this scooter, with hopefully an engine which doesnt get you knocked of the streets. If I would get a new scooter, I would look at one of those IVA scooters which are marketed with having a powerful engine on it (3/4 kw, I believe 4kw is the maximum for drivers license AM). I have never driven one but if I were to swap this Piaggio it would be likely with either one of those or a NIU. Many of them however have double batteries, which can be a massive inconvieniance with charging. This is what this Piaggio excels at, a single easily carried battery which is quite efficient as well. There is also the Silence S01/S02, they can also be gotten "downtuned" to meet the AM rijbewijs standard, but it has a massive battery pack on a trolley.
Good to hear that you're getting your bike licence. Looking forward to seeing what you can get hold of to cover on this channel. E bikes, scooters, motorcycles, all good 👍
India is way ahead in terms of electric two wheeler. I have Ola S1 Pro with top speed of 116kmph, 8.5kw peak power pmsm motor, 4kwh battery, 0 to 40kmph in 2.9s all under 2000 euros.😅
Can you imagine Italy without the scream of scooters. It's on the way with these machines. Also, the two stroke smells are going. Love it. If we had italian weather, it's a no brained. Great review. Lovely to see this as I'm inclined to forget there are other options to cars. Des.
I’ve been thinking about buying myself an electric moped or a regular moped. Without the moped is an hour to get to work. However with the moped it’s like 14 minutes to get to work and 32 minutes to go back home. Avoiding highways of course. My point is. Is it reliable for mostly work related and to drive around it for fun.
I'm very interested in getting one, I play baseball in Ireland and have no mode of transport for training I usually travel like an hour by train and 30 mins by bus for training (and games) (plus going back looking at 3/4 hours) This seems just right for my needs Video been insightful thanks
Check out the niu scooters as well. There good options. The Piaggio 1 is almost the same price as a super soco cpx. So I just bought the cpx I can do 55mph/90kph on the cpx.
Hello, can you please help me how to reset the maintenance icon ( it appears automatically around 1000km ) :((( just can't find any info anywhere about this
I like them if u live in a busy area handy and cheap to get around, especially if you can drive on car licence, but like you said a bit under powered!! I think there's something up to a 125 on car licence but not sure. What's insurance and tax like?
I have the one plus, it broked after 6 months, display won't turn on, and makes a clicking noise when the battery is plugged in, it's now back at the dealer still has warranty on it
I'm pretty sure this is based on NIU hardware, has very similar specs and features. Even the power un sound is the same. Am I wrong to assume it might be sharing most of the hardware?
I think the active one should be able to do 50 plus mph as this one would be classed as a 125 petrol engine and would require L plates thats in England, not to sure about Ireland. If the rules are different please could someone let me know.
I have active version. Is it possible to pair my Phone via Bluetooth, I have downloaded the app and followed the instructions on screen but can't connect.
My interests would not be on acceleration, range, convenience and comfort are far more important. Maybe piaggio2 would offer a slightly bigger battery.
Niu is a good option if your in the US. For me I wanted Speed and range. Super soco cpx is perfect I get 55mph/90kph and 100+ miles of range with thr duel battery. Hub motors aren't the best at acceleration but it gets you moving.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland haha yeah, I tried the combination method according to the instructions for hours! I gave up and called the Piaggio dealer and they told me I can unlock the feature for like 320usd... they literally told me it's not worth it
Smaller than the one I tested? This one has a 1.4kWh battery and an electric motor giving 1.2kW of power peaking at 1.34kW. What data do you have for the Feng Chen version?
I live in Canada. I don't know why they don't make these things go at least 60kph. Think about the merging issues It'd be amazing if they just made these faster slightly
In Canada they only sell the active version (60kph) and, depending on where you live, it should require only a regular licence. Check first, but in BC it is classed as a slow speed motorcycle (car licence) and gets a big EV incentive. Think Ontario and Quebec has similar.
load of rubbish, made in china by zongshen in a tie up with piaggio, bearings went in rear hub meant new motor, £700 but the warranty covered it then the battery went £1920 covered by the warranty, bought a liberty before the warranty expired and got rid of it
For folks who want something more substantial than an ebike and don't want to retake a licence, it fits the bill. Price is surprisingly good too!
Thanks Cian. I think so too

Absolutely agree! Thanks for the comment
super handy for city living and thankfully without the moped squeal
The perfect machine for the city

Unfortunately I don't know. Best reach out to your local dealer. Sorry
Great review mate
Thank you
Great review! Thanks!!
Thanks for watching!
Hello mate great video how much is insurance for this moped?
Hi Milan. Let me check and come back to you.
Could be around €300 but will all depend on the rider's age, no claims etc etc
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Hiya great stuff thank you so much.
I had an MT50 and that Piaggio would kick ass
Ha ha ha

Thanks Rob. You can get a tricycle on a car licence but no electric version of that type at the moment to my knowledge
I have the one plus, it broked after 6 months, display won't turn on, and makes a clicking noise when the battery is plugged in, it's now back at the dealer still has warranty on it

Not sure, could be. I've heard another brand in the comments. Didn't remind me of the Niu models I reviewed
I think the active one should be able to do 50 plus mph as this one would be classed as a 125 petrol engine and would require L plates thats in England, not to sure about Ireland. If the rules are different please could someone let me know.
Hopefully another viewing will jump in with the answer here. Thanks for the question
I have active version. Is it possible to pair my Phone via Bluetooth, I have downloaded the app and followed the instructions on screen but can't connect.
I think the Bluetooth is an optional extra. Have you asked your dealer about it?
When they sold us the Piaggio One they told us it was included, but it isn't. It is an optional extra.
Hi what about uphills with second person??
At this power level it would struggle
Great review, the sniffles were a bit distracting though 😮
Sorry about that
Is this newd a license?
An AM licence here in Ireland. Less than 50cc equivalent
My interests would not be on acceleration, range, convenience and comfort are far more important. Maybe piaggio2 would offer a slightly bigger battery.

Thanks both for the comment. More 2 wheeled EV reviews soon
It is stupid that the bluetooth function is a separate part that must be purchased for it to work :(
I was wondering why it wouldn't work for me!

A great little scooter
3:30 I think thats saying the battery is happy 😆
Or sad if below 50% 🤣🤣
whats the 0 to 15 time
Let me check and come back to you
Move the mic away from your mouth a bit. The huff and puff may go away a bit. Great video! 💯
Thanks for the feedback, my mic placement is a work in progress for sure
The display is horrendous. LCD only, if you have the sun in your back, good luck. You say it‘s good visible… even with direct sun light?
I found it good yes
Battery depletion is bad too
Error feng chen wang is smaller electric with smaller batteries

It's too slow, to keep up with city traffic.
Thanks for the comment. It's actually not too bad. A lot of cities are limiting speed to 30km/h so it'll be perfect
I live in Canada. I don't know why they don't make these things go at least 60kph. Think about the merging issues
It'd be amazing if they just made these faster slightly
They do, you just need the correct license which I'm training for

60kph max and 66km sport. For €4k.....ouch
