Two things I really enjoy on the rare occasion when TH-camrs actually do them: 1. Correctly pronounce the "zh" part of "Orzhov." 2. Calling generic mana what it is rather than "colorless."
One thing that makes Deepcavern so insane is that it can hit creatures from the hand which Kitesail couldn't. Very frustrating card to play against lol
7:00 The play pattern where you turn 1 Eyetwitch, turn 2 block with it then sac it to Deadly Dispute, effectively negating a combat, going up a card and ramping was great. It would also be completely unplayable in today’s Standard.
Given how low the entry bar for this list was, I'm a little surprised Mirkwood Bats hadn't found some home to get a few points in in Modern to make the list.
I play Belfry Spirit in my commander blink deck because I had it and didn't want to order cards lol. Ooh I should get the evangelist as well! More bats!
Based on the hype it generated, I'm a bit surprised not to see Mirkwood Bats; I'm guessing it's because it's not Standard-legal, and so there were various tournaments it couldn't participate in, but I guess I was still expecting to see it, it having been such a bogeyman card, for it's time.
mirkwood bats is a very good commander card and gets a lot of play and hype there, but in normal 60 card constructed a 4 drop that needs other cards to trigger its effect just doesn't match the tempo, especially when it is limited to the eternal formats. it was also very solid in lotr limited since army tokens were a big thing. very good card, just not one that's really primed too take over top lists
Its always bugged me that outside of the game effect don't in commander (such as lessons), if a person only had a surface understanding of Commander and Legacy, the fact that wish effect are viable in Legacy but functionally banned in EDH would just feel 'wrong'. Id unironically like to see a "wish-board" as part of the game - Spawnsire of Ulamog 20 ability SHOULD work in edh - change my mind. 🤭
I'm personally a big fan of bats, I've never really ran them in MTG though. Perhaps in my Sengir deck, but aside from that, not really ever. What I have done, a lot, is ask for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
Nice, I was hoping to see you do Top 10 Bats after you did Top 10 Vampires! (7:17) Ah, Zoraline. I intend to make a Commander deck with that bat as the leader, and I'll likely use most (if not all) of these Top 10 Bat cards in the deck. (10:38) There's Aclazotz, the most expensive Bat card right now, and fortunately, I was lucky enough to pull one from my LCI bundle that I got for Christmas last year. I usually find double-faced cards too awkward to want to work with, but I'll certainly make sure Aclazotz is in my Zoraline deck anyway, since I happen to have it. (12:37) Heh. When I saw Aclazotz only at #2, I figured it was likely that Deep-Cavern Bat took the crown. Good thing I've somehow acquired five of them. So, I can put one in my Zoraline deck, and then still have a full playset to use in a 60-card deck if I so desire. (13:30) Fortunately, I do already own all of these (with the exception of Dirge Bat, but I should be getting that one in the mail from an online order very soon).
That damn Deep Cavern Bat surely is on the list, right?
Edit: Yep…
I would not be surprised if it was number one
What ? But that card rarely sees play and isn't totally ubnocious right ? :p
At some point I'd love to see you top 10 favorite cards (or an update if you've already done it). No theme. No restrictions. Just your favorite.
I was surprised that Vampire Skeleton made it, but that card was my jam back in the day....I love that card so much.
Man I love these Halloween intros, also just realized the Evangelist has Bat-tle Cry 😁
Boooooo

Skeletal vampire just might be the spookiest creature in mtg
What about silversmote ghoul? It's a vampire AND a zombie!
@@timmyg316 runner up, since skeleboi is a skeleton vampire making bats -> 3>2
Have you not seen The Fallen?
@@deyicon1983 nope, that name means nothing to me
@@Shimatzu95 then you should

I absolutely love your Halloween intro. I look forward to it every year, fourth year and counting. Awesome videos

Bats in the Belfry is a wild joke to put on a magic card jajaja what an awesome thing to slip in. R&D had fun with that one
That opening animation was on point!
I'm kind of itching to make a bat themed commander deck now.⚫️⚪️🙂👍
No better time for it than now 👍
Me too, with Zoraline at the helm. 🦇👍

Seen way too much Deep-Cavern Bat to think #1 would have been anything else 😄

Me too, especially with #10 being just 2 points. I thought it would have found a home somewhere in Modern, or maybe even Legacy.

All these bats have a lot of upside.... down
So close to that 100K milestone. Any ideas for a special video when you hit it??
If it’s not Top 10 Vintage (Minus Power 9) I’m gonna bLoW a gAsKeT
All hail our Crustacean King!
WOOO, DIRGE BAT ON THE LIST AND SEA-DASHER MENTION
Bat god better be here, I love him
Edit: Good
I have always loved the art on Skeletal Bat. But boy howdy is that inefficient by today’s standards.

People say bats are just flying mice but they’re much more like flying squirrels :3
Believe it or not, they’re more closely related to rhinoceroses than to rodents.
@@democrrrracymanifest Ahhh, yes. I see that you know your mammals well.
Bats are not spooky, they are cute :(
I swear that stupid deep cavern bat should be banned. I don’t care how controversial that is, I hate that thing so much
Flying rodents with lifelink! (Most of the time anyway)
Yayyy 1st comment twice this year
Just shove a Sheltered by Ghosts and Etherial Armor on the bat and go to town!
Never understood why you don’t mention how many points the cards have for audio only people.
#10 - BRING HAUNT BACK
TIL Bloodletter of Aclazotz is not a bat
Vampire demon yeah haha
Rank the scarecrows
why do you never mention historic?
Not never, but very infrequently. I also don't know how often historic actually has events that qualify for points

YOU FORGOT Mirkwood Bats, should be at least third or fourth
Pronounce "Caroline". Now pronounce "Zoraline"
How about "Gasoline?"
