    You might be the only person in Canada to get a Jade to flower. THAT'S impressive. Shows how well you take care of these trees. I saw in another video (before you got "Mr. Mister") that you would spray your greenhouse down BY HAND 8 or 9 times a day, that's when I realized this wasn't a hobby of yours, it is a way of life!

      Yes, I hope the Jades flower again this year, they are so beautiful in bloom!!!

    Nice work with the Cedar Nigel, also it's good to see that your Schlumbergera is beginning to bud out. I typically don't move my Schlumbergera around when they develop buds because they don't really like changes in lighting and drastic changes in temperatures during this period, which can lead to the plant dropping buds. Good luck with winter.

    Christmas cactus. Try keeping it facing the light without turning it. Flowers tend to break off because the twist to try and go to the spot where the spot was when they formed. Sort of wringing their own neck. Just a thought. Can't wait to see it in full bloom.

    Great development of this tree! I wonder whether I would miss the low curvy branch at the right hand side if it would be removed. 🤔

    Funny how the common name, Eastern Thuja, is the direct opposite of the scientific name, Thuja occidentalis (Western Thuja). Shows how much naming depends on the perspective of the describer, since Carl Linnaeus named it scientifically and Canada is west of Sweden. From a Canadian's perspective, however, it grows in the eastern part of the country.

    Those cristmas catuses are really not difficult to flower. they need a completly natural light cycle with no artificial light starting in early September. then oce the flowers set the plant will bloom brovded the the tempature doesn't get below about 15c. also wait until all flowers fade before resuming the watering.

    When you do a final rotation of the tree at the end of the video, the back of the tree with the Deadwood feature on the trunk seems like a more interesting front than what you currently have. Just a thought

    The cashews are very very tropical trees I wouldnt put them bellow 15 grades, when they are so small probably are even less cold tolerant

  • @Yurup
    @Yurup 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love the tree, have my doubts about the lowest branch though, not sure how you feel about it Nigel. Besides the curve which is not very catheteral like it also creates a lot of tangents with other branches higher up.

    Perfect timing for this video, as I have found a seedling I want to dig up and use for bonsai. I wasnt sure what to do with such an upright plant style, since it seems to not fit traditional bonsai. But if it stays where it is, it will be mowed over eventually, so I dont want to waste it.

    Does these Cedars have die back when you completely remove all the leaves? Or would it assist in back budding?
    Ive got my 1st Cedar like this the other day and all the leaves are found all the way on the top of the canopy, but i would like to cut it back so that the tree isnt as large as it is now.
    Appreciate the assistance.
