Nigel, am i right in thinking that even before you start a pruning you know exactly what result you are looking for ? ... i am looking forward to when you expose more of the trunk & give this beauty more height .
That tree is coming along nicely! Your plant room certainly is full! Perhaps if you quietly empty out your closet add shelves and grow lights in there while your wife is outside, she won't notice it full of trees and glowing eerily around the door!😄😇
At about 7:12 timeline, you mentioned ladybug. It was climbing up side of trunk during start of video at about 0:30. That was fun to see.😊 Now to those cedar pics..., Wow, those were some gloriously beauuuuutiful cedar tree pictures! Your cedar bonsai is beautiful before & after pruning. All of your plants are beautiful. Always a lot of interesting and educational bonsai possibilities learned in your videos. Thank you for another video enjoyed! 👍
You talked early in this one about the change in the bark. Yes. I believe in Canada they are called First Nation people used to make ropes out of the bark of these and on the west coast the same of the T Plicata also known by the common name of western redcedar.
I have evergreens for the first time this year going into the winter. Can you overwinter evergreens in an unheated garage (no light) or do they need some access to light?
Yes, that will work fine!! They don't require light, but it can be slightly beneficial if the trees are above freezing. Check them once a week to see if they need watering and watch for early bud break in spring. Move them back outside if they look like breaking dormancy early.
Hi Nigel, i did being my curve l Chinese Elm trees indoors. Losing leaves daily. Is this normal? Will it recover? Also the poor is kinda rootbound. Could that be the issue as well?
Hi Mr Nigel, I'm trying to figure out what exactly Cathedral style is. Google hasn't been helpful other than pointing me to more of your videos in this series 😅 Maybe someone else knows the answer. Always looking to learn more! You've really achieved something with this pruning, it is looking aged and majestic. Always love the shots from underneath to put the tree into perspective.
@@TecnixX Yeah, I saw the images but it wasn't really a verbal description, not very clear what makes this a unique style! :) I'll check out the older videos when I get around to it, the man is a machine when it comes to producing top dollar content, hard to keep up sometimes. Thanks!
if you eve venture to the USA twords the Tennessee area pleas😂 let me know cause i would love to have you come check out my trees and let me know what you would do with a few of them i'm stumped with.
Cedar is heading to a really good place...Like it a lot...Thanks for sharing its journey with us...
That Temple will be one to pay attention to next Summer. Its roots are growing so quickly.
Vey cool style for the tree. I'm sure it'll look even better when it gets into a Bonsai pot!
I really like this tree! Good Job Nigel!
Nice Thanks
Hibiscus or Bougainvillea?!? Great tour of the plant room trees...So many...So healthy...Thanks for sharing...
New reference photos. Cool!!
Great transformation!!!
Good branch structure is right. This is going to be one cool tree.

You should get some shelves Nigel to put the smaller ones on. More room! 😊
The only tree of yours I know you have applied wire to (and not just to mark the front)! Beautiful!!!
Little "cocaine bear" peaking out from behind you as you prune, then 25:41 trying to steal focus from the awesome Thuja!! 😆

Hey Nigel I thought the plant with the big red flowers were hibiscus ?
Yes, whoops!
Did I hear a cat in the plantroom? 😸
The flower looks a lot like my hybiscus

Watch earlier videos of this tree. Very old cedars grow with branches straight upright.
Or @2:08 in this video

@@NoDecaf7 i think it was the forming of those upright branches which look like cahedral/church towers.
Can you describe what determines if you prune or pinch branches?
Good question, I'll explain it in the next video!!!
@@TheBonsaiZone Thank you.
Cedar, 'Cedrus', is an evergreen conifer originally from the Atlas Mountains, Lebanon and Turkey. What You got is not a Ceder tree!

28:03 isn' t it a hibiskus and not a bouganvillia?
Yes, a slip of the tongue!! Thanks!
