- This snare drum was the model that was used by Barry Kerch with Shinedown from 2015-2018 when I was his drum tech. This actual snare was never used on stage and has collected some dust over the years. In this video, I walk through how I would set up Barry's snare drums for live performances and show you some of my favorite things to do to a snare drum for live and studio work.

Love it! So glad you are finally doing TH-cam
You put a set of Canopus Backbeat 30 strand wires on that bad boy and you'll see the light, mark my words.
Nice drum. I've always found that a brass shell with die-cast hoops are two tasty ingredients for a good sounding snare. I already know it's going to sound good. I don't care what the brand is. Brass is brass.
This brass shell gives a nice big open tone and the die-cast hoops add a big attack.
I am a big fan of brass snares.
Are those pure sounds for a 14” they look short or is that how they are I don’t know pure sounds
Yes those are 14" 30 strand Puresound wires.
They may be a little shorter than 20 strands to make space for the width but they are for a 14" snare.

Is this snare drum a one piece solid shell or welded with a seam?
this is a rolled brass snare with a seam. I think it has been discontinued but it's a great snare drum. Like I said in the video, it was Barry Kerch's main snare for a few years.
