    All depends, but I’d expect under 200k to fix. Elecs and motor will need to be outsourced; hull repairs could be done but will require time. Lots of time to dry out the core and re-glass. Still, a heck of a lot of boat for the money!

      Personally I wouldn't take on this boat/project regardless of price or even if it was priced at $0 with free delivery.
      The damage you see is lucky to be 20% of the total damage.
      Structurally you could never be confident, hearing creaks at night while you're battling a storm could be the last night of your life!
      Just not worth the risk.
      Damn shame for the owners.

    Not that bad . I have a 43 belize thst I got from insurance for 10,000 usd . She ran into another catamran which put door sized holes in the port hull . She flooded and capsized broke her mast which turned to nunchcks with the rigging damaging the coach roof and deck . She was upside down for 6weeks befor we got her . Cost us about $130,000 bds or $65,000 usd to right her . Float her . Drag her on to the beach . Rebuild the two engines . Strip her. Rewire her with basic wiring. And launcher . And about a year of 5day a week work with just him and one other guy .

    Your prices for engine and generator seem shockingly high. A 250hp Yanmar diesel (4LV250) has a list price around $15k, what did this have in it that was worth $50k? A new CAT C12 ACERT marine diesel around 700hp is $40k and for $50k you could get a 860-1000hp C12.9. A 20 kW Kohler marine diesel generator, enclosed for noise suppression, is well under $20k. Still, that boat is trashed. I don't think anyone could every make me happy that they had adequately repaired the hull.

      We never even got to the pricing on our side but maybe the marine surveyor & structural guy were throwing around some numbers with Matt it could also be with labor … cause insurance wants that and it’s all a rough estimate ~ this is Karriann

    • @mikerileyfop
      @mikerileyfop ปีที่แล้ว

      They also have to include labor to remove the old motors and install the new ones

      Yep those prices are what happens when you pull them out of your ass! I had a good laugh when he said 50K for the main engine.

      We can fix but way too much … we have our eyes on a new project 🥴 a long time client the 72 Marquis was saved from sinking on Monday! Matt was on vacation & I stayed behind just in case needless to say we had an emergency we got it haul out on Monday!
