Ok Let me fill in the Blanks here about Jeff Jarrett winning the NWA North America Title and Steve Austin stunning Jarrett that Jim Cornette didn't talk about.... It's January 1998 and the Rumble is coming soon that month and Steve Austin had told everyone that were in the WWF Royal Rumble are going to get Stunned or attacked by Stone Cold first before they could do him in. That night on WWF Raw Austin had already attacked The Rock and Ken Shamrock breaking up their match and dropping both of them with Double Stunners. Then he jumped Mark Henry backstage and dropped him with a Stunner as well. Then Steve Austin attacked Mark Meroe in the ring when Steve Austin broke up a match and dropped Mero with a massive Stunner then making fun of Mero's Boxing background which brought on a Smile to Sables face after what Austin did to her Husband when Austin left the ring. Later that night Jarrett has his NWA North American Title Match in which he wins the NWA North American Title. As Jarrett is Celebrating, Steve Austin jumps Jeff Jarrett spinning him around and hitting a Stunner knocking him out cold, Then Austin Makes fun of Jarrett's Walk (Struts) and flips Jarrett the bird. Steve Austin would go on throughout the night Stunning and attacking the other Wrestlers who were in the Rumble as well.
How can Russo claim it’s Cornette’s idea when I’ve heard him say in an interview he only came up with the idea to make Jim happy and prove that his way wasn’t gonna cut it in the 90’s and the ideas he had were the way forward
ive been watching on the peacock so all this is super fresh in my mind. im at the new midnight express episode where corny betrays the midnight. this is like a director's commentary on dvds!
33:34 Just to think, if Cornette hadn't given Russo this warning, Russo would have tried to chew out Steve Williams or someone like that and get flat out murdered, and wrestling history would have changed forever.
I was at that Fayetteville show. It was my first wrestling event ever and I still remember the New Midnight Express. Two drunks got in a fight during Rock and HHH’s match and Rock got on the mic to berate the crowd for not paying attention to him.
@2005 Cool Year interesting... can you send me the exact link. I enjoy hearing both sides. Cornette in my mind has always been a hypocrite and I have always seen Russo as the liar.
“Well, we can’t get anything done, Vince because he’s pointing out what’s wrong with everything I say.” - Shitstain “Because I was pointing out what was wrong with everything fucking thing he said.” - JC 😂😂😂
Looking back on the early days of the Attitude Era, the only things I liked about it was what was going on with Austin/McMahon, Austin's programs Foley/Kane/Taker, The Rock's antics, various members of the Nation, and anyone that mingled in the Main Event Storylines. Aside from that the rest of the era is utter CRAP, yes which includes dX. The BEST thing to happen to the Attitude Era was when Vince Russo F**ked Off to WCW. Poor WCW.
The nwa was garbage before stone cold stunned anyone. He didn’t bury anything. The mere implication that he did isn’t only misinformed, it’s stupid, and shows you have no idea about wrestling history in the 90’s. Period.
@@richaffinito5112 You're not good at listening to videos you click on; That was the first exposure they got to that big of an audience and THAT was the beginning on national television. It had a chance to be built up, at least on WWF television, but instead....They had a shitty match and the winner got randomly stunned by Austin with no follow-up. Btw, you said "-shows you have no idea about wrestling history in the 90’s. Period." That's the point. 37:21 "Am I going on too long?" Never, sir. You could never go on too long. I'll never get enough of Jim Cornette talking about the old days of the wrestling business.
@@connor7177 What are you basing that on? @@RedSoxFanatic4Life I'm talking about how the smart marks of today thinkin that old school wrestling would work when in reality it won't draw 10 dollars in Chinese money. Sure today's wrestling may be non logical or trashy but I don't hate or bash it like most of you smarks would.

How many "invasions" did Vince manage to screw up?
NWA
ECW
WCW
OvW
NXT. Twice.
Nexus and Retribution.
Retribution
Lol smarks. Think the y smarter than Vince
How can Russo claim it’s Cornette’s idea when I’ve heard him say in an interview he only came up with the idea to make Jim happy and prove that his way wasn’t gonna cut it in the 90’s and the ideas he had were the way forward
"The horribleness and awfulness will never be forgotten"
Another Ghost and Mr Chicken reference. I think we discovered one of his favorite movies
Well that is a classic Don Knotts film. Good catch.
Nah
my old city Springfield Mass, In your house DX ppv I was there
An hour???!? Lemme get my popcorn😂
ive been watching on the peacock so all this is super fresh in my mind. im at the new midnight express episode where corny betrays the midnight. this is like a director's commentary on dvds!
who let Cornette know of the presence of Russo again? oh well at least we get another Russo Rant out of it.
"I've never seen a man with a good enough memory to be a successful liar."
- President Abraham Lincoln
Anything with Corny going in on Russo is an immediate click from me
Same especailly about Russo 😂
Corny hates him with a perfect hatred.
"If you're going to be a good liar, you have to be able to at least talk good."
And have good records
Cornie is a walking encyclopedia.
33:34 Just to think, if Cornette hadn't given Russo this warning, Russo would have tried to chew out Steve Williams or someone like that and get flat out murdered, and wrestling history would have changed forever.

Makes me laugh every time I hear it
That new Midnight Express/Brawl for All story....WOW!
I was at that Fayetteville show. It was my first wrestling event ever and I still remember the New Midnight Express. Two drunks got in a fight during Rock and HHH’s match and Rock got on the mic to berate the crowd for not paying attention to him.
I bet that was a hell of a roast especially since Rock was a heel at the time.
@@MisterE1976 Certainly made me a Rock fan.
Ohhh boy HERE WE GO!!!! I can listen to ol Corny rant on Sh**stain all day!
Oh oh it's happening again somebody brought up the name Vince Russo to Jim hold onto your socks here it comes😉🤯😳😮😯😲😡🤬
I clicked this as soon as I saw it but didn't realize it was 60 minutes long. This will have to go in the Save to Watch Later list
Cool
"We all had to go to Fresno."
I'm so sorry
no such thing as a spirit animal
Dan Severn’s entrance music was such a banger
Haha oh no, Vinnie Ru is poking the bear once again.
@2005 Cool Year I don’t understand, what point are you making? Does this “RazorFist” expose Cornette and Russo as liars?
@2005 Cool Year interesting... can you send me the exact link. I enjoy hearing both sides. Cornette in my mind has always been a hypocrite and I have always seen Russo as the liar.
lol'd at the Beaver Cleavage reference. Wow. That was all the way down the memory hole
I never knew how much Russo just completely ruined angles in wrestling it’s unbelievable. He’s also responsible for killing off WCW
Hogan, bischoff and Nash had a hand in that as well
Hogan, Bischoff and Nash did it first.
“Well, we can’t get anything done, Vince because he’s pointing out what’s wrong with everything I say.” - Shitstain
“Because I was pointing out what was wrong with everything fucking thing he said.” - JC
😂😂😂
Looking back on the early days of the Attitude Era, the only things I liked about it was what was going on with Austin/McMahon, Austin's programs Foley/Kane/Taker, The Rock's antics, various members of the Nation, and anyone that mingled in the Main Event Storylines. Aside from that the rest of the era is utter CRAP, yes which includes dX. The BEST thing to happen to the Attitude Era was when Vince Russo F**ked Off to WCW. Poor WCW.
Jim's knowledge is as flawless as his ability to rightfully hold a grudge towards Russo 🤘🤘
"It's gonna be my show here for a second..."
Jim ranting about his arch bronemy is gold !
I can't imagine what it must be like for a guy to know that 183,000 people generally refer to him "Sh*tstain" on a daily basis.
I can’t imagine how arrogant you must be to think he actually gives a fuck lol
lol I think in a casual conversation with a friend if they mentioned vince russo to me i would respond with ''Oh, shitstain?''
Jim, 1849 called, they want all of their solid gold back.
So funny that Stone Cold came out and stunned Jarrett, and buried an already valueless title, as its debut
It wasn't known about/exposed on national tv until this match occurred and THIS was how they chose to introduce it. Fucking pointless.
Small correction. The Rock and Roll had been on national TV in 96. They where for instance on the infamous Nitro where Scott Hall came from the crowd.
You used infamous incorrect. Just famous.
*“BRO.”*
- Vince Russo
@2005 Cool Year is that you Russo bro?
You're a mark! You're just copying and pasting that comment. Bruce Pritchard backs up Corny! He was there too!
37:21 "Am I going on too long?" Never, sir. You could never go on too long. I'll never get enough of Jim Cornette talking about the old days of the wrestling business.
Except these days the smarks of today think old school wrestling would draw a dime when in reality it won't
@@connor7177 What are you basing that on? Given how poor the ratings are for today's "sports entertainment," with its obvious cooperation, nonsensical booking, and flips for no reason in virtually every match, why not at least try the version of pro wrestling that was exponentially more popular for decades?
@@RedSoxFanatic4Life I'm talking about how the smart marks of today thinkin that old school wrestling would work when in reality it won't draw 10 dollars in Chinese money. Sure today's wrestling may be non logical or trashy but I don't hate or bash it like most of you smarks would.
@@connor7177 You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but you’re still not saying why you think “old school wrestling” couldn’t draw money today. It seems like a lot of people miss the way wrestling used to be, so it’s logical to think that there would be a sizable audience for pro wrestling presented in a more serious, realistic way like in the 80s and 90s.
Nobody watches wrestling anymore
I just love me some Vince Russo rants by Mr Jim Cornette.
"I bet that even Shitstain liked Jeff." True, he put Jarrett over as the main heel in WCW after Bret Hart retired and WCW under Russo had that big push towards putting the younger talent over in the final two years, with Booker T as the main babyface headliner against Jarrett and Scott Steiner.
I see Jim Cornette and Vince Russo in the same title, I click!
Same hahahahahahaha
It's a must
Hey Jim! I actually went to the show you mentioned wow! Brings back memories of KANE making his entrance, saw him taker, the rock, no Austin though..idk why
MADE MY MORNING Jim I know hates reality TV but really need a reality show where he goes to diffrent promotions and tells them how to turn the show around guys there's not much he says I disagree with in terms of how feuds and how matches should go and The never lie about an obsessive record keep cracked me up and the fact that he won't say his name but S***stain 🤣
"..a guy walkin through a mens locker room whistling stranger in paradise in reverse.."
😄😄😄
I barely even remember the NWA "invasion" in 1998, it was so forgettable and didn't leave any impression on me.
Heck, ECW's cross promotion in 1997 was more memorable. Ditto the ICP showing up for like two weeks
Ya no shit eh
I've always vaguely remembered the angle, mostly because if done right it actually could have been good.
..
The only reason I remember it is because it got the Rock and Roll Express to New York.
00:00 NWA Invasion- 11:13
37:08 New Midnight Express-
